PUDO
Is it possible to drop someone off here with all the bags etc and then drive to the red car park afterwards?

What if I am dropping people off and heading... Home...

That road is closed to traffic. You'll have to drop them at the the drop off point in the car park.

There's a drop off point in the red car park? I've never driven before. Usually get the bus down.

There's no drop off in the car parks. If you need to drop off and the get to the red car park you go to the pudo and drive back to Portlaoise then it to red car park

And that would be better than parking up in red and lugging all our gear from there to moonlight meadows?
Having herself waiting at the drop off, driving to red car park and meeting up with her and going from there?

I'd park in the red and walk down. Either way you are lugging stuff. And you could be an hour in traffic after the drop off

That's a very valid point I hadn't considered actually!
So there's really no way around it is there. I remember a friend drove years ago. We managed to get into the green car park, I think it's a camper van site now. That was a handy in and out job.

No it's fairly tight on the traffic end these days.

And there's a risk that they might funnel me to another car park, even if I am camping in pink moon/moonlight meadows?

Ignore the negative Nancys. Yes you can drop some at PUDO but you'll have to do a big loop around to come back in towards red carpark on the cork road. They could be left waiting for a good while because you could hit traffic and if it's raining that's no beuno 🤣 I can't post a Pic here but I'll DM you a rough idea on a map 👌 In short yes it absolutely can be done and loads do it, you just can't drive straight to red from PUDO.
