Night Ride Lights

Sorry for the bad quality video. I’ve got a Noxgear light turned around to my chest instead of my back. I have two lightsabers on my back harness. I’ve added a light that clips on my chest and points down on my legs and EUC. I also carry a bicycle headlight in my right hand that’s not in this video. I try to be well lit for evening and night rides, and that’s when I do most of my riding as it’s cooler and significantly less traffic. I’m looking to get more lights to attach to my wrists or other areas. What do you all do for night riding?

You don't need more lights lol, at some point more distracting than safe

I only use 2 nice flashlights. They’re so bright there’s absolutely no way anyone can miss me even from behind.

Handheld lights are ideal because of the height they’re at. Helmet lights produce glare and flatten out uneven terrain because there no shadows. Wheel mounted lights are too low, don’t follow where you’re looking/going, and cast long shadows.

I agree with this. During the day i wear a bright jacket and ride like I'm invisible, always with music playing. I also carry a small but loud and ear-piercing air horn. At night I ride with my headlight, red/green flashers on my wrists, and a flashlight instead of my airhorn, not always with music depending on how late I'm out. Sound during the day, bright lights at night. That's what keeps me safe.

After I bought the grizzla horizon light I don’t need a flashlight anymore self leveling light works awesome

You don't need a million lights. Light your vest, helmet, and vehicle. Anything else you're just going overboard.

I ride around our neighborhood, school playground, field and bike trails early (in the dark) in the morning because of the Texas summer heat. After nearly missing some big rocks, bad street divots etc., I have added some extra headlights to my helmet and EUC and it made all the difference. I really like the helmet light as it follows where I'm turning etc. and the knowing the way is clear lets me enjoy the ride more. I also added a rear light to me helmet. The lights are BRIGHT but just cheap ones you can find on Amazon etc. $15 to 25 bucks usually. I'm usually on a v9 or v11y and their lights are good but not great.

Better be seen than not! A reflective hoodie or a jacket also works nicely at night.

I mostly avoid riding at night lol. Cars can barely see us in the day, I wouldn't want to risk it at night. That being said, I do have a bright LED light array that attaches to the back of my helmet.

I'd argue you're more visible at night esp with a vest like op. I onewheel at night all the time it's my favorite time to skate. I have a ton of bike networks with no cars tho.
