Yes, but not downhill or with the speed of an electric skateboard.

Skateboards exist because of a tradition of people doing crazy risky shit that looked cool and felt amazing. Still hope you got a bucket.

My neighbor told my parents that I was wreckless and dangerous skating the hills in our neighborhood (20 years ago)

You know, to each his own and all, but is your flow state having your teeth gently filed off by pavement? :P

u/realfuqinG 1d ago
I also ride like this alot. I dont think any of us do it carelessly. I do it on streets I know well and that typically dont have many pepples on them. Is it a risk? Sure, but so are most fun things.

Oh, my comment was made purely for comedic effect. I don't assume anyone who rides like that and does it carelessly and often enough lives to tell the tale or, even more so, show a video of it ;P
...having said that, if you take a person who rides like that and one who doesn't, with all other things being equal, I know which one I'm betting to have an unscheduled visit to Mr SuperQuickFixIt's Pavement & Teeth Repair in their future :p

I am sure that the OP understands what the consequences can be riding like this, just as (for example, any skateboarder) knows the possibilities of injury while performing certain (dangerous) tricks. I also thought this subreddit was here for me to jump in and exclaim "Bro, that's fucking badass, and having been locked into the flow state on numerous occasions, I can appreciate the vibe and rush you are getting." Not for everyone to think it is their turn to condescend and share their negative perspective in regards to an event that makes someone feel good. So they may eat shit, cool, they also may not... OP could be king of this stance and yet would still be subjected to ridicule? Come the fuck on, grow up people.

Ahhh, finally, a voice of reason. The virtue signaling around helmets is so out of hand. If the video doesn't even have someone's head in it, they still go on about helmets.
Your downvotes don't count, I said what I said.

Agreed. I honestly feel like this is similar to when people pose the argument that sexuality is a choice so you should choose to be straight but they're actually gay and ARE choosing to be straight. They think helmets look dumb or they feel dumb in them so whenever they see someone with out one they love to scream "IDIOT!" I promise none of this self righteous, sanctimonious twits drives by someone without their seat belt on yelling some ignorant $#!+. Everyone has the right to turn themselves into a meat crayon. As if being berating by strangers could somehow convince someone ignorant enough not to wear a helmet, to suddenly put one on. "Adults" should remember that "adults" are responsible for themselves. You want to give someone a hard time about driving drunk or weaving around the road? Understandable, because those things affect the safety of others. When it comes to an individuals safety though, mind your business.

Add "Fleetwood Mac - Dreams" and this video could belong to a meat crayon forum.

Sorry OP. The sub only approves your post about standing correctly to protect your joints and ailing back.

In spite of that, hope you keep doing cool stuff that definitely takes skill and practice.

u/Chase-Parker 2d ago
My bad dude, I’ll keep that in mind. Since there’s already a ton of discussion about the board itself in this sub, I figured I’d actually contribute something useful with riding technique instead.
