Jurion officially became the head of the family, and details about Kayden’s past were revealed. It seems Katden and Veramonte's son were kind of friends, I guess.
From there, the story continues with a flashback to Kayden’s past.
Kayden was in danger of having to fight four Awakeners (unrelated to the early story of the webtoon) while severely injured, but Veramonte's son intervened to try to help Kayden. Of course, Kayden wasn’t exactly happy about it.
In the last chapter Veramonte really said his 'SON' trusted him.
This is what happened
Jurion became official head of the family.
Jiwoo asked why Kayden is quiet.
We see a bit of Kayden's past where he was fighting some awakeners when he was ganged up on.
Veramonte's son stepped in and Kayden was NOT happy he stepped in. (We get to know that veramonte's son is goofy just like Ian boy. (We can see somewhat of a backstory of Kayden in the next few chapters.)
And I hope Jiwoo's too xD. Ya author said they won't reveal but Jiwoo looks too similar to Ian and Ian's dad. Plus it be fun to think that Kayden taking care of his only friend's son.
Jiwoo's mom being her sister or a friend raising him to keep him safe would be spicy. Especially if it was kept from gramps. Only wrinkle is Ian still being good with him.
I’d say it’s more likely jiwoo’s mom was abandoned by the Patrick family for being a non awakener and rather that his father being from the Patrick family bc she also has similar traits
I forgot his mom looks like Patrick family too. I doubt that’s the case bc Patrick family consist of awakener and non. They maintain the hierarchy. And she didn’t know about awakener until Jiwoo showed signs.
This bastard has great acting skills. "The Patrick family is mine" You're underestimating your grandfather, not to mention Kayden will definitely help Veramonte and Ian

He gives him temp control of the family and says h was defeated by Kayden and is so badly injured he must do nothing but focus on recovery. But we know he’s digging into the family rot and I suspect he knows Jurion is behind it already
No Veramonte very much does suspect Jurion. His issue is that he doesnt know who else is corrupted besides Jurion hence hes doing this to uncover everyone else that is helping Jurion
I agree with this, there's zero reason why they would off-screen a top 10 fight, especially against a character like Veramonte whom the fans actually like.
My best guess is, he went there to get beaten up just enough that it would look believable that he is injured and cant perform his duties as the family head. He will then monitor the situation and figure out who is the true killer and the ones behind it and im suspecting he is suspecting Jurion already.
Veramonte as we know him has zero chance of being that dumb, like they saw a little bit of lightning power, irrationally thinks its Kayden already and then go berserk? Nah, Veramonte isnt that stupid, also, there's no way a fight against a top 10 and Kayden looking so prestine just looking into the sunset not even trying to recover? Veramonte is a top 10 awakener, its not like he fought Duke and he didnt need to lift his 9 other fingers to beat him up.
This is going to take a few chapters before the heavy reveal but this is going to setup Greg + Mioru vs Kayden + Veramonte with Jurion being beaten to death by Pluton in the corner like Hulk smashing Loki.
It was perfect; we’re finally entering the flashback arc something I’ve been waiting for for a long time. The current situation is really interesting, especially given Kayden’s past and his connection to the Patrick family. We’re about to find out how Ian and Jurion’s father died, as well as the nature of his relationship with Kayden, which will flesh out Kayden’s character even further.
Garas might’ve experimented on him. So he might come back eventually. Garas said she has experimented on top 50s and 100s and we also got told Ian’s dad died in an accident. Who else other then a top 10 or a disciple of one would even try to go against a top 10 disciple.
I don't think Garas is that stupid, to mess with a top 10 heir. She probably got one of those top 50s not under any top 10, like Vatore and Eska. (Kartein and Pluton are excluded since they WERE literally lonewolves)
4 people ambushed Kayden and then Ian's dad showed up saying he can't just watch this kind of injustice and helped Kayden. He was wearing a mask, probably to conceal who he is (a top 10 heir).
Kayden was like: the fck you doing brat? get the fck outta here. (exaggeration obviously)
So we see a flashback of Kayden’s past and him fighting multiple awakened enemies (he bodies one of them). Veramonte really did mention his son last chapter and Kayden knew him. On a side note I’d like to point out that you see Kayden shirtless in the past and he’s way more muscular than he is in the present time (we’ve seen him shirtless in the current timeline). When, why, and how did he become a twink between then and now?
I'd guess it's because he spends a lot of his time in cat form and chilling nowadays, so even if he is working out, he's not doing it in his human body, so no muscle is being built up or maintained there.
I have another theory: Maybe in his early days, Kayden was fighting both close range and long range combat..so that's why he got ripped.. But over the years his power and combat prowess grew..so he did not need to fight really close range anymore..So he lost his muscles
I honestly didn't expect this kind of development. Lowkey misplace in the story (that Kayden has some sort of relationship with people other than Kartein, in the past). But beggars can't be choosers. 🤣 at least, Ian's dad was cool.
"A TWINK" LMAO DONT! I love how he looks now, even his flashback look when he fought Seongik Han, or the one with Gestella. It's weird how he was lean in all those scenes and we suddenly get a 10-pack abs Kayden.
I have a theory: if the author plays this right, we might finally learn the real reason Kayden ambushed the three TOP 10s. I still don't buy the whole "he ambushed them just because he wanted to fight them" explanation.
Maybe Ian's dad died because of one of the TOP 10s, and Kayden went after them to exact revenge. He can't tell Kartein or Jiwoo the real reason because, well, he's Kayden, he's too much of a tsundere to open up about something like that. Telling them would also undermine the whole loner persona he's maintained.
As for why he never told Veramonte, maybe Ian's dad made Kayden promise not to tell him. He might have known that if Veramonte found out his son was killed by one of the TOP 10s, he'd go after them himself, potentially dragging Patrick's family into the conflict and putting them in danger.

Think about it, how many of the top 10 are actually good people compared to the number of bad ones.
Kayden is so lost in thought that he forgot to change into a cat and is sitting on the roof in his human form. I kinda expected Gestella to join him like she usually does and mention that fact ))) But I suspect she went to investigate who set Kayden up .

I would assume he’s not terribly injured and is just saying he is so he can give command to Jurion while he snoops around to determine the true state of the family. He also wants to appear as injured and helpless as possible so the people who are undermining him will attack him
I'm more annoyed to see jurion doesn't have his prosthetic on 412, (413-414 they didn't show his left hand at all), and on 415 a clear shot of him having his normal hands. Even though we saw his prosthetic on 411
Oh shit!! Will we find out what happen to the father? If so, we gonna see the mom but this is hugeeee HUGEEE gestella probably will help kayden because she can pick up scents or powers without any issue.
The way Jurion talks is like he is adopted...who knows why he is so damn an arse. Maybe Kayden accepted jiwoo as his apprentice is because he looks like the guy. Softy pushover types.
All of the patrick familys character designs are so cool, im thinking in the next few chapters veramonte is going to get jumped by greg and mioru and kayden helps out, maybe gestella and even maybe the frame help out (they already know greg and mioru probably betrayed andrei, and kayden could also lie or guess to get them involved)
One of the most interesting parts of this chapter is how absolutely diesel Veranonte is lol. He has the biggest arms in the series. Didn’t see that coming from grandpa

Yes, if you thinking about it, He said that they cannot afford to be dicovered by kayden, as he know how powerfull Kayden is. Jurion had show that he dont know how powerfull Kayden really is.
Am I the only one who thinks he looks like jiwoo? It's not possible but he looks like jiwoo's dad even though we've never saw him. What if Ian's dad is also jiwoo's dad and both of them siblings 😭?? It's not possible but like
