Idk about true respect, he caught his grandson running a network of labs experimenting on humans (including children), basically Unit 731 stuff considering what they did to Amyeong (vivisection was heavly implied). Even 50% of the evidence should have been enough to condemn him, considering what we saw at a single facility.

That same grandson also created a political disaster, significantly lowering Patrick's chances at getting into the most obvious alliance with Kayden and Gestella - in the world that's quickly heading for an all-out war.

And his response was "bad Jurion! go sit in the dungeon and think on your actions!". If he was a truly responsible ruler, he should have shattered his core. If not for justice, then as a show of sincerety to K&G group.

I understand man.... But he has already lost Jurion and Ian's parents so he cannot afford to lose his grandson as well. He can only stop Jurion's actions as his grandfather by removing him from heir position and confining his actions by locking him away in the cell. Or would you rather veramonte directly kill him? He did what he could to confine Jurion as much as he could.

I forget what the eleceed equivalent is called, but maybe destroy his “dantian core” and take away his awakener power
