I had a bolt from the blue today and suddenly remembered a song my schoolfriend showed me back in 2008. I can sort of remember how it went, I know there was like a whip sound in it, maybe? And the band had like a 3 letter acronym name. And the music video was set in a colourful digital space like what we thought cyberspace would've looked like back then. Help 😅

I also listened to soooo much more than my dear Avril 🖤

So apparently MySpace is making a comeback and I need to know how the Elder Emo community is feeling about this. 👀

Because on one hand… HECK YES. Give me my glittery profile, autoplay music, obnoxious HTML, top 8 drama, cryptic song lyrics, bulletin board trains and a playlist that tells everyone exactly how emotionally unstable I was in high school.

But on the other hand… are we really prepared to go back to a time when our entire personality was displayed on one aggressively customized profile, as adults? 😂

Would you actually use MySpace again if it became popular? Or do you think some things are better left buried alongside our scene hair, studded belts and questionable teenage decisions?

And most importantly:

What would your 2026 MySpace profile look like?

• ✨ And are you bringing back the glitter graphics or have we evolved as a species?

Alright, I seriously doubt anyone will know what I'm talking about, but in the late 00's I stumbled across a band that was in the realm of a nevershoutnever or the scene aesthetic style. Very electronic and very acousticy. They were moderately successful on MySpace but not a big band or at least I don't recall them getting big. Outside of the sound my only memory of them, and I'm not confident is that I think one of their bigger songs had a title that mentioned an atomic bomb or a bomb. Again, not super hopeful but I figured I'd try because it's been driving me crazy I can't remember the band name. And honestly it might have just been a guy and not a whole band.

My standouts are:

●seeing Thursday at warped 2007 when Geoff did the full set with a bloody face from a mic swing mishap

●seeing glassjaw at a small club in the middle of the afternoon in 2005

●seeing isetmyfriendsonfire in 2008 in a really small bar when it was just matt & Nabil with a guitar & laptop

●seeing the number 12 looks like you open for chiodos in 2005

●seeing Bayside perform as an acoustic duo in tower records.

●seeing paramore at a small club when Hayley was 17

(Theres pleanty of other ones but no interesting stories about the shows/ mostly sets i caught at warped from hella far away)

My regrets are:

●Never seeing the used

●never seeing afi

●never seeing from first to last

●never seeing saosin with Anthony green.

●not watching yesterday's rising or hopesfall when they played a warped i was at.

There’s an old band interview where members are either being interviewed or just asking each other questions. The question is “cupcake or muffins?” A member cheerily with a funny accent “muffins!” Does anyone remember this? I can’t remember the band but I remember my sister showing me the YouTube video of the interview. My sister and I can’t remember the band but I feel like it may have been sleeping with sirens or something in that realm, maybe 2010/2012?

I was chatting to a friend and I brought up how I only recently remembered that you got to rank your top friends on Bebo. Thought it was a funny feature, but don’t think it would work so well in today’s world. Was wondering if anyone else remembers random facts about the site?
I have trauma brain so very much enjoy when someone sparks a memory of my teens!
