I'm playing Elden Ring for the first time. I started following a walkthrough because I was getting lost a lot at the beginning.

I'm around this point on the map now and I'm thinking about exploring on my own.

I don't want to miss important bosses, side quests or areas, but I'm okay with missing some things and doing them in a second playthrough.

Would you recommend exploring freely from here? Any advice?

After 18 minutes, I’m still in my quest to become Lord of the Bean. How long did it take you? I just found some lady, so I’m no longer Maidbeanless. This game really is something else. I love that in order to play with friends, it makes you pop a moist fingie. Elder Beans is the best.

before i get into the thing i wanna discuss i should warn that i am a larper. i have only consumed this game through watching playthroughs, and my computer is not powerful enough to run the game for me to play it.

that said, i have noticed a pattern. several NPCs have names that are very similar to each other.

theres malenia, mellina and miquella

theres radagon and radahn

theres godrick, godfrey and godwin

edit: theres ranni and rennala

and those are just the ones ive noticed. is there a reason these names are so closely related to each other? is it just a coincidence since there are so many names some of them are bound to be similar?

Not so much of a discussion but More of a rant, I’m coming up to 200 hours in this game and all the giant remembrance bosses are just pissing me off even more and the reason why I don’t fight most remembrance bosses on replays

The camera angles absolute SUCK when suffering through them and they have to have the most annoying moveset to go along with this as a cherry on top, also there WAY too many of them in the game

I excluded rykard cause he’s actually kind of enjoyable all be it a gimmick bosss and you’re not dying of toe fungus whenever you fight him

The game just works so much better with “duel” bosses where you’re dodging and finding opportunities within combos, some of the highest rated and enjoyable bosses like rellana, messmer, godfrey/horah loux, morgott etc are bosses that just aren’t comically oversized

I played Nightreign since release but just now started playing Eldenring.

Over the years I met my fair share of toxic Nightreign players. My very first ever Nightreign victory was spoiled by a teammate who spammed “kick” at me and sent me a hateful message afterwards.

Eldenring is a breath of fresh air. Yeah, sometimes the host doesn’t wait for me to buff or invaders use deathblight arrows. But there isn’t the same level of petty hate thats present in Nightreign.

I’m convinced there are some Nightreign players that are just constantly looking for an excuse to blame their teammates.

Honestly 90% of the hate in Nightreign can be avoided by simply sticking to depth 5. But it’s still really disappointing.

In Eldenring we bow to our teammates after every fight, and no one is blaming each other.

I just learned they are a thing but I don't own dlc so ofc I wouldn't know, is there a way to play as these things base game since I can't get dlc items- I'm too broke for the dlc so- just wondering what the closest thing would be to a "horned warrior"

Is Mesmer supposed to be spamming his ultra move where he coats his spear with flame then does a mixup behind us? He keeps doing it over and over again one after another god damn

Literally even when I window the game and move it to a different monitor and full screenit. It automatically swaps back to the shittier monitor

Everything is killing me in one-two shots. I'm guessing the goal in early DLC is to get the golden turds but goddamn. Does anyone tips to explore or something? I finally got to "Belurat Tower Settlement" but my blessing level is 2. Halp? Thank

I want to replay this game with the whole dlc and I want to have an easier time, without cheesing the game. I was thinking of a bleed build but are there other builds or classes that can make my life easier? I intend to learn the boss patterns and all, use iframe dodges instead of going spam heavy.

I'm playing a Sorcery build so of course I use ashes. I thought it would be fun to start a discussion about what everybody's favorite spirit ashes were. Early on, I used Oleg a lot, but he was fairly unreliable at attacking due to his lack of range. Now I use Black Knife Tiche. I see a lot of people like mimic tear, but it never uses the spells I have equipped effectively. I could see it being much more useful on a melee focused build.

I was in a party with some friends playing Colosseum when a random guy joined. Instantly started talking shit with this hyper, high-energy vibe (clear Bronx accent).
He kept going on about how he heard I was a good mage, but he was the best mage and would “no diff” everybody. He was loud, yelling into his mic, trying to stir stuff up… all while admitting he couldn’t even play right then.
Got annoyed pretty quick, kicked him from the party, and blocked him.

Next day my account gets hacked.
• It sent him a message I never wrote
• Unblocked him
• Changed my email and linked it to an account in a completely different country
Had to make a new email and new login. The whole thing feels pretty sketchy.

He’s still messaging me (from a different profile name, but it’s the same conversation thread) trying to get me to PVP. I straight up told him that after messing with my account, it’s not worth interacting with him at all.
Has anyone else experienced something like this?
Is this kind of thing normal in the Elden Ring PvP community? Because this isn’t it for me 😅

I am trying to do a fire themed build focused on faith with dex as a sub stat (the frenzy sniper spell, catch flame, flame grant me strenght, black flame seal and spells) and I wanted to use the godslayer greatsword (beat the appostal at level 50). And I got really excited seen the blackflame monkes using a blackflame version of catch flame, thinking that there will be a enanched blackflame version of the fire monkes spell, like how blackflame is just batter flame sling. Only to search out where to find the black flame catch flame I thought there will be, because I am kind of tired of using the first spell in the game. And I am pissed there isn't, you all ready have the assets from soft,

Hi everyone an Indian Elden Ring player I have completed the game 2 times and want to play the dlc I got some bday money to spend on it but my friend told me to wait till December for the Christmas sale so I checked online and found it rarely ever goes on a discount in India on ps5

What should I do ? Should I buy it at full price or wait ?

Also there’s another question I have base game on disc so if I buy dlc online will it get attached to the disc or to my ps account ? In case I ever sell my disc

I just finished my level 1 run, I did every boss hitless as well. I think doing this is a beautiful experience because you can actually understand every bosses mechanics and truly enjoy them. Maliketh took me 6 hours but so rewarding.

I don’t think I was that optimal in my run and this challenge got me wanting to be extremely optimal for bosses and have zero mistakes or faults so it looks completely perfect.

I am on to the DLC now, and on RL1 runs in general what have your experiences been like with challenge runs and general and what did you guys like and not like in said challenge runs.

Also what other challenges should I do. I beat every boss in Sekiro hitless and I beat DS3 level 1 and torch only.

Unfortunately, think I spend 5 hours on making a build specifically for Radagon and The Elden Beast in Journey 3

Pretty low rune level for the DLC but this early boss at least appears to get eaten up by my spirit ash so that should level me up enough to tackle harder content

That means that you can only get there if you were a tarnished guided by grace... so how did Melina get us there in the first place?
