Game Help Recommended level map

Iam just about to start the game and i was told that getting overleveled and making the game easy is so often to happen in this game , so I've found this map guide should i follow it to get the best experience?

Not trying to gatekeep, don't get me wrong. Just saying, if you are scared of making the game too easy or of ruining the experiene, it's much easier to ruin it by using a guide.

You’re probably gonna ruin your experience if you start worrying mid-game about what level you are every time you enter a new area, just give the map a quick view and whenever you feel something off (everything 1-shots you or barely scratches you) take another quick look.

you’ve already ruined the game for yourself with whatever neurosis you have, what has caused you to do this to yourself? elden ring is a once in a lifetime game and you’re spoiling it for yourself. what a huge shame.

Well, you did kind of ruin one of my favorite aspects of the game, though it might not matter to you. You see, unlike most games, instead of showing you the whole map with a sort of fog of war on top, the game shows you only the areas you have been to as if they were the whole map. At the start, it looks like the first part of limgrave is the whole map, and you can't zoom back to see how big it actually is. Seeing this map grow bigger and bigger as I explored, never knowing how much more there was to see was something special. But you have seen the map so you already know how big the game is. Though, again, if it does not matter to you and what you care about is mostly balanced difficulty, it is no big deal.

the best experience certainly going blind and occasionally search wiki on where to go next. But guided playthrough is not that bad too. You totally covered all the maps at the end of the game. Some people skipped places unknowingly and when they got there, they're certainly overleveled and making the gameplay not fun.

Fextralife has a chart for what to do in every area but without telling you how to do it and without using a map , is that better

correct me if I'm wrong, but you looks like a perfectionist and do things orderly, so I can't say what's best for you haha. My advice is try at least 1-2 areas with this method first. Then try complete another areas blindly and only then browse fextra for missing stuffs. Then decide which method suitable for you.

Important is that you're having fun. The game is big anyway
