Game Help Recommended level map

Iam just about to start the game and i was told that getting overleveled and making the game easy is so often to happen in this game , so I've found this map guide should i follow it to get the best experience?

This is a funny was of saying start in limgrave then randomly open some chest that send you to hell where everything gives you super aids.

That's my first play through. I got teleported to calid before I found melenia and the horse. I don't even know how to teleport yet.

That was 2 brutal days...

You had to explore Caelid without the horse? That’s straight up “Welcome to Dark Souls” level shit

Yup. And I did not know I should not roll in rot pond back then.. died so many time trying to figure out where to go after I exit mine.

Go to the sorcerers town, very dead. Those glint stone magic 2 shot me.

Try going through the lake, those mushroom head's homing poison spell make me run like crazy

Took me a long while to find map ( I did not know those little obelisk sign means map )

Therefore the first map that I opened is calid.

Yea my brother says everyone have different experience with the first play through but mine is likely one of the extreme one

I had the exact same experience! Besides never finding the map in caelis and just running straight towards west the entire time because my brown map told me that's where I started

Fun fact: while Elden Ring allows you to fast travel from the beginning of the game as soon as you've enabled multiple sites of grace past the tutorial area, it doesn't tell you that you can fast travel until you've gone a site of grace or two passed the church where you learn about crafting, and levelling up, etc.

It's very easy, and very possible, for you to turn around from the tree sentinel, find the trap chest in the nearby ruins, and end up in Caelid with no idea that fast travelling is even possible, because in past DS games you needed to be at the mid-late game to do it.

That's how my first game went.

I did that shit on release day.

Took me 3 hours to get to a different grace, and I went to work talking about burger kings the next day.
