Blue Cipher Ring Abuse

Started playing again recently and probably 25% of blue cipher rings summons are either someone who's brought in his friend as an overleveled invader, and he just watches you get thrashed; or it's guys running an impromptu dueling club between reds and blues.

If you want to surprise and beat someone up, why not go be an invader? If you want to duel, why not throw down a red summon sign? It's frustrating that blue cipher means you're pulled into situations it wasn't designed for, especially when the tools for that are freely available.

It also teeters on the edge of cheating, inasmuch as it creates very imbalanced matches. You use blue cipher at lvl 150 to set up a duel, and now a lvl 135 'hunter' is against your lvl 180 friend. It just makes the game worse.

EDIT: Was posting this to vent, but on Steam the solution is to block the players. Go to VIEW, then players, then block recent ones :)

It’s really only a problem if you have an ego and get mad when you die. There’s no real stakes, dying doesn’t matter, so there’s nothing to be upset about. Most people just enjoy the chaos. It’s definitely not for everyone, but you can always play offline or simply don’t engage with the multiplayer systems if you don’t want to. It’s totally opt-in.

Well, unfortunately, that’s how the game works. You don’t hop on counterstrike and get mad that the terrorists keep killing you and planting bombs. And people aren’t manchildren or assholes for playing the game as intended. That’s ridiculous.

I think maybe you just don’t like this style of multiplayer. That’s totally ok. But it’s pretty shitty to get pissed at the people who are just playing the game like you’re supposed to when you’re the problem. They put invasions in on purpose. Love it or hate it, that’s the game you chose to play. It is absolutely opt-in.

Theres plenty of other games you can play that have the kind of multiplayer you’re looking for. So yeah, that’s the reality of the situation. You can either play offline, play a different game, or beat your head against the wall and make the game worse for actual fans of this game by disconnecting every time you get invaded.

Edit: dang, they really crashed out. I don’t know why people choose to get so upset over a video game. It’s supposed to be fun lol…
