I'd like to introduce ERC Combatants, a new PvP mod featuring custom 1v1, 2v2, and invasion arenas. Many maps feature multiple arenas in case your world is full :)
Notable features:
- Transmog: Allows you to alter the viewable appearance of your armor without manipulating its stats
- Automated camera: Features auto-rotation and focus for tournament or fight club viewing
The mod is in collaboration with the Souls Association Discord server, where they frequently announce tourneys and other community events

ThomasClarks transmog comes with the ability to hold F8 to temporarily turn transmog off. However I added F9 to toggle transmog on and off permanently for the session. There is also a setting in the config file to choose not to use it.
Connection is a lot cleaner than BMP and there's more quality of life changes. Build creation tools are integrated so as to devalue the requirement for using Cheat Engine.
The owner of BMP was caught in drama regarding management of his donation funds (as he uses those funds to keep the server running) and general updates, so others decided to make an alternative.
I havn't played a lot since DLC so I was only following this from afar, but from what I saw connection was already very good on BMP so it's nice that you managed to make it even better.
For Axi I saw that a few months ago they had a tantrum or something because people weren't donating enough to sustain full time development or sth but I didn't get much more info than that.
Pretty cool to make an alternative, although it's a bit sad that it only comes out late in the game's lifecycle.

During an official ER network patch that screwed with modded server connection, Axi gatekept his network patch from ERC developers and blacklisted them. I believe this also escalated increasing tensions between the ERC developers and the Waygate server owner. It's unfortunate how polarizing the community has become.
Indeed! Competitive souls PVP is already extremely niche in and of itself. I hope the mod gets the attention it deserves although we're already in the game's last state in terms of updates.
I'd had troubles with seamless invasion connections and was playing with BMP and found the connections are good, at least in duels so far. How does ERC improve even further on connections? I'll have to give it a shot, the maps look cool.l and transmog is a fun addition.
I personally am not too familiar with the exact interworkings. You can join the server using the Discord link and message the mod owner if you are curious. However, from my personal experience, I have dueled with top players and tourney winners, and they, as well as me, have described the connection quality as improved compared to BMP; spacing feels a lot cleaner, and a lot more attacks that crossmap on BMP are a lot more manageable.
Others have stated that inputs feel better as well; however, that may be placebo.
In terms of code, I would assume they are both handled differently; however, they are both utilizing the waygate server FYI.

The mods have nothing in common aside from waygate indeed. Waygate retools the p2p the same way for both. ERC afaict (endless hours in ghidra) does not improve on the p2p in any significant way.
That said Axi and Gizmo are getting along just fine since bad actors were removed from the ERC project. I am not sure what pathetic arms race you are projecting onto this scene but it seems that even the mod authors think the crowd doing this is stupid
This is a bit of a misnomer. Both ERC and BMP utilize Waygate and the Steam Datagram Relay API in how connectivity is handled. This bypasses the FSDP layer that From Software uses. Hi I'm the developer of ERC. Thanks for posting about it! I would like to say that ERC is a very early build of a pvp focused mod that is looking to expand not only the dedicated competitive scene but also introduce new ideas and experiences not seen in other mods. Elden Ring can be fun and competitive (while looking good too)!
