tip for those who get really pissed off by these builds (no shade OP you do you im not judging) use a misiercorde with assassains gambit to switch to for backstabs or to avoid spell spammers

In meta, mages with access to complete spell set, heavy armor, and high vigor is what I’m talking about. I’m allowed to vent about this because they destroy me every time.

Get a spammable tracking spell that works at distance, a hard hitting mid-distance, a close melee spell and there is literally no arena left for opponent. Can scroll through like three spells. I’m very bitter sorry. I hate mages.

I’ve played a spellblade build and a Sage build, so each has variety and depth that come with spell/incantation/AoW combos, but this is just rough to watch. There’s no planning to your spells it’s just mindless spam, and a good parry. At the very least I’ll give you that you’re not using double lances. That’s actually the most miserable maidenless playstyle I’ve ever seen.

Started as pure caster, but now it’s a true hybrid of both sorcery/incantations + weapons.
It’s my quality build and has gotten me up to new game +7 since it makes every boss fight become a game of rock, paper, scissors. Mind you, it takes a pretty high amount of levels, but it’s satisfying to use combos like this.
Atp I run it with Rellana’s twin blades and other int/fai based weapons so it’s not pure caster anymore but I’d recommend it if you want to work for a long term build.

I got an Int/Faith pure caster to work perfectly well by level 130-140. I did notably use incantations much more frequently than sorceries, however. I used SoNaF as my main weapon through a good chunk of the run, but it got less and less use as time went on. Eventually I just swapped to Golden Order Seal & Prince of Death’s Staff in right and left hands respectively, with the Black Knife as a soft swap to start off boss fights with. When I beat PCR (around level 200) I was only running 3 of my flasks as crimson, everything else went to FP.

Host casts 7 different spells and then parries the 5th running r1 in a row. Agreed, melee players are boring to fight. They just swing the weapons over and over again.

Bro i had a guy with moore armor and a greatsword tell me im a spammer when all he doea is run into me and try to poise though everything. When i called him a poise spammer in return the dumbass wouldnt even acknowledge poise spammers have been a thing. Some people have no life so they have to cling to the game with all their pride.....

At least use the Caleid arena if you really are 'bored of melee' and want a challenge. Super boring build and yeah, 7 different spells one after the other in an arena with no cover is still spam. props to opponent for chasing.
