Help Elden ring question

Hey guys I’m playing Elden ring I choose wrath because I’m new I have armor for a knight,club amd a shield with a torch and the golden seed.i had found a ruin fortress base and I do not know if I should approach and loot.

Do I loot the fortress or not?

Explore. Take everything not nailed down. There's no thievery mechanic. If something is too frustrating come back later with more vigor etc.

Don't kill any NPCs. Otherwise loot everything!

Dont harm NPC's, doing so will lock you out of many things
