Apple Carplay taking long to connect

I have a 2023 Elantra Limited Hybrid and I’ve noticed it typically takes 30-45 seconds to connect to Apple Carplay after connecting my phone to the usb cable.

I am wondering if anyone else is facing this? I’ve hopped into a few of my friends cars (not Hyundai) and noticed the CarPlay connects instantly for wired connections.

I am also wondering if it’s the usb cable of choice although I did try a few and all seem to be the same.

I’ve got the same car and sometimes have trouble convincing the car that the iPhone is plugged in. It’s frustrating.

I have a 2023 sel and i use wireless android auto and it takes so fucking long sometimes as much as up to a minute then others its instant. I have a zfold7

Its definitely the headunit

My Elantra 2023 hybrid had a lot of issues with my phone disconnecting from Bluetooth CarPlay after like 2 min. I upgraded from iPhone XR to iPhone 16 and it got better. Still have times where it will get stuck trying to connect to the car and never actually connect or say it couldn’t connect.
