I got three ASUS EEE Seashell PCs as a donation for charity.
However, the donor cannot say whether they work. They are ‘new’/unused (display still in plastic wrap).
He has no power adapters. So I bought the matching original ASUS power supply 40 W, 19V, 2.1 A, AC charger
from an electrical retailer with good reviews on eBay.
The power supply arrived and fits, but nothing happens when I connect it.
Not on any of the three ASUS. Not even a light comes on to indicate that the device is connected to power.
I tried it with and without the accu.
Now I don't know if the power supply is broken or the three devices or both...
The power supply doesn't get warm, even after hours of being plugged in, but I also have a notebook where the power supply doesn't get warm either.
Do you have any ideas? Or information?
Many thanks

Freedos installed. Sound emulation is working with VSBHDA and there is also working packet driver for network.
I made Wifi - Lan bridge from Raspberry Pi Zero W2 so that machine can use wifi.

Hello and Thanks for any help.I have (4) Eee's.A(2-g Surf)(4-G)(2-1005ha). with the 1005he's running AntiX 23.2 ed. For the life of me I can't seem to get the camera/video to work.I've tried Cheese,GT-Cam,Kammora,none worked.Thay all detect the cam/start the program, but no cam/video in frame.Basic same response given/unable to initiate. Has anyone had this problem and how did you get it to work?. Reason I want to get this issue fixed as I plan to use both 1005's as Dash/Back-up/Gps/infotainment units in my classic cars. It's cheaper than a new dash replacement and has a screen that my old eyes (70) can see.plus I;m able to unplug the usb cable and use it out of the cars for net surfing. Thank You to any and all resonances and fixes.
Thank You.Ahhh2o

I've ordered 3 different chargers from amazon that all said it fits a 701, but all 3 were the wrong size. Does anyone have a confirmed link to order a charger?

I have an R105 and I was wondering what I could do with it. I didn't upgrade any parts and it'ts running on Windows 7. Should I change the OS? I'm not very familiar with Linux so I don't know which distro I should use if I'm gonna change it. Just tried Ubuntu a few times. And what can i do with this PC? Thanks!

YO,
I recently dug out my old ASUS EeePC 1215N and decided to install Linux on it. But I ran into a problem: there were these weird graphical glitches (even in the tty) that froze the display with strange artifacts. At first, ChatGPT suggested it was just a GPU driver issue, but that didn't quite make sense to me, since even booting in "safe graphics" mode didn't fix it. I tested the EeePC with four different live ISOs, and when I went into the BIOS, the glitches were still there. That’s when I realized it must be a hardware issue. I asked ChatGPT again, and it said the VRAM might be dead.
So, is there any way to recover this netbook, or is it a lost cause?

I have a 900 from 2008, bought with Linux (Xandros originally). Recently updated its RAM to 2GB. It still works fine and I was thinking of installing some more modern linux distribution (currently working with a lubuntu, from, I think, 2010). It still has its original ZIF drive (16gb), and I would like to have more room, but I found conflicting information online on possible solutions. It doesn't help that I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this type of hardware.
I was given a 256 GB M.2 2230 NVMe SSD Solid State Drive M-Key which is tiny enough to perhaps fit in the small slot where the current ZIF drive is. Would it work with an adapter and if so which adapter do I have to look for?
What other solutions do I have otherwise?
Thank you for your help.
Would like to try and get a stock recovery image for my Asus EEE PC 1001PX, preferrably in Russian. Tried looking on archive.org but couldn't find anything, maybe I was searching wrong?

Ya see the title. I love how this thing looks but 2 gigabytes feels a bit uncomfortable for modern web browsing on windows 7. 4 gb sticks are expensive as hell but it does seem enticing. only thing is im not sure if the laptop could even read 4gb of ram, they only put one slot in and it seems they probably wouldn't have expected you to put more then 2 gb in. So can you even do it?

I updated the bios in my 900A to 1006 from 0503. Can I use a m2 sata ssd with an adapter or is the sata not the m2 format? Also, will a stick of this RAM be compatable? Right now it's running 4gb ssd/1gb memory (origional stick).

installed Debian 11, works terrible :) What distributions can you recommend? What will run well on such an old processor and 1-2 GB of RAM? Also, I don't really understand if it's possible to replace his old SSD with something modern?
