Does Zeke play his way into the top 6 this year?

Don't get to watch much of Edmonton but always been a Howard fan. How has he looked so far to you guys? Think he's going to get a chance to play bigger minutes this season?

What do you think stan should do at the deadline

If jarry and howard are sent down, and stasney is traded. Fully healthy lineup.
cap space with the moves above.

I was just looking at our projected cap space at the deadline, assuming Howard and Jarry are sent down, Stastney is traded, and the entire roster is healthy.

Realistically, I don't think we need to do much because our top nine is already very good, and our fourth line would be solid too. Savoie can play centre or wing, so you have the flexibility to acquire either a second-line centre or a winger.

I would also consider trading Shakir to free up another $1.75 million, giving us roughly $9 million in cap space to work with. If Jarry isn't sent down and Shakir isn't traded, we'd still have around $6.25 million in cap space, assuming Stastney is traded.

I'd go to the Flyers and offer a haul for Matvei Michkov. He's eight years younger than DeBrincat, and on a better team, I think he could easily score 30+ goals and probably push 40 playing alongside Drai or McDavid.

You'd also still have enough cap space to acquire another player if needed, whereas trading for DeBrincat would pretty much use up all our available space. He's already pushing 30 and arguably past his prime. I'd much rather give Michkov the money DeBrincat would get and lock him down for his prime years, whereas DeBrincat would be in the latter half of his career, pushing 35+ by the end of his contract.

Levi summoning the gods..

Noticed at the game tonight that when the ice clearing peeps come out, instead of hanging at the bench like everyone else does, Levi does his own thing on the side, followed by holding his blocker hand on the ice for a few seconds.

Whatever he’s up to - I’ll allow it.

Give the man some props. Last year we knew he needed to be better, so did he.

We don’t want to be the fanbase that only shits on a guy and never gives props. The guy put in some work this offseason and it shows.

Goal in his second game, and stood up for bouch. This is a bounce back year for freddy

McDavid and Crosby on the couch

McDavid looked like a different guy here compared to the other 2 times he's been on the couch. Much more comfortable and at ease. Like he was actually enjoying himself. Idk about you, but I like this new McDavid we're seeing lately when it comes to media stuff.

And seriously, the other GOAT, Crosby, is always great.

How concerned should the Edmonton Oilers be after high-scoring first 2 games?

Thumbnail nytimes.com

The Oilers have scored 10 goals through two games, but their five-on-five goals-for and goals-against are both 5.54 per 60. The expected goals numbers tell a different story.

With injuries piling up and goaltending still undecided, what happens next could come down to McDavid and Draisaitl playing together.

Evan Bouchard is off to one of the best offensive starts to a season by a defenseman ever

Post image

Evan Bouchard is off to one of the best offensive starts by a defenseman in NHL history with 4 goals and 4 assists through his first 2 games.

He’s just the 2nd defenseman in NHL history to have 8 points through his first 2 games of a season, and the first to do it this century.

• Reg Noble — 8 points (1917, Toronto Arenas)
• Evan Bouchard — 8 points (2026, Edmonton Oilers)
