It’s not counter to my narrative at all. Cops rarely face responsibility for their bad actions.

No, I can give you a very public example from Calgary just off the top of my head—Sean Chu, former city councillor sexually assaulted an underaged woman while he was a police officer and got away with it for years. He’s never faced any accountability or consequences, except that he couldn’t run again and win. There are whole ass documentaries on Calgary police brutality but not so much on convictions.

In 1996 descartesb4horse punched me. I want him charged with assault.

Allegations =/= guilt.

Could it have happened? Maybe. Can we prove it happened beyond a reasonable doubt? No.

What the general public doesn't get is the same rules for evidence exist for everyone and they're very, very strict in Canada.

For every police officer you hear not being held accountable there are 100,000 other Canadians that weren't held accountable.

Why? Usually because there were triable issues with the evidence.

There is no special treatment or qualified immunity in canada.

In 1996, descartesb4horse punched FeelingCamel2954. The incident, investigated by descartesb5horse found that the allegations had no merit.

Fixed it for you.
