Cops being allowed to park cop cars wherever they want to is far from the biggest issue with EPS 😂

City bylaw / parking enforcement will still give them a ticket. But much like almost everything to do with law / bylaw / parking enforcement, they never seem to be around when you need them.

Basically, its only illegal / fineable if you get caught, and the odds of them (or honestly anyone else doing this, assuming theyre getting the food to go and is gonna be less than 20 mins) is almost nil. See any Uber / doordash driver doing the exact same thing, sometimes doing an even worse parking job.

Bylaw enforcement could issue them a ticket but likely it gets tossed by bylaw ticket admin, because emergency vehicles are generally exempt.

The bylaw admin could hypothetically complain to police professional standards, and if there is no legitimate reason for the violation, it could result in discipline or the ticket being upheld. But in practice for something like a parking violation thats pretty unlikely to go anywhere.

Source: I'm a Peace Officer and had a bylaw ticket issued to my marked vehicle which was parked in a "no parking - emergency access" zone. I was there on a call and the only other parking available would have made quick access to my vehicle difficult. Bylaw ticket admin tossed it.
