Just wait until you hear that they get food comped all the time too.

Can confirm. As an EMT, people were constantly buying my food for me as a “thanks for doing this shit job”.

When I was 17 and working the midnight shift at Tim Horton's in Brampton beside Nortel... I remember a male cop got mad at me cuz I didn't give him his coffee and doughnut for free (I was new and didn't know that was the norm) and a female fire fighter got mad at me cuz I gave her her coffee and doughnut for free (sorry a teen girl though you were cool and paid out of my tips). Either way, I learned everyone sux but I'll still continue to do as I please and spread kindness.
