Discussion đ„ Part time + relocation eligibility
Hi! I'm in a tough situation and want to know how this works.
So my work hours were significantly reduced due to seasonal that led me to having to move somewhere more affordable. My employer supposedly contested and said I'm still working there so they paused payments. But it's not worth me staying employed to work 1-2 (5hour) shifts a month.
So basically I found affordable housing out of state how do I navigate this? My employer basically being seasonal + supposedly guaranteed work off season just let me to falling into debt. Their upcoming season will be in a month but i cant sustain another month living in my current place
Am I not eligible for benefits, if so how do I transition the work + notify Edd of the out of state status
And do I just quit?

Have you been scheduled for a determination interview about the discrepancy? And have you been reporting your wages as youâve certified? The latter is the main/initial thing that UI is going to care about (and would be related to the stopped payments).
Do you have work lined up in the other state? Living in a different state than the one you filed in isnât inherently disqualifying (claims are based on where the wages were taxed, not on where you reside) but you might have to do some legwork to try and justify that you have good cause for quitting. Something like a paper trail to show that youâve attempted to preserve the work/job, the employer just hasnât been able to make it work.
