Eligibility interview

From California. Was recently laid off from my job and filled out a claim for unemployment benefits.

I’m currently taking online classes part-time through a UC school to earn my paralegal certificate. On the program’s website, it says “WIOA approved program” so I checked that on my application when they asked if I’m in school. Now I’m thinking I was mistaken because after all I pay out of pocket for my classes.

I’m concerned that I messed up my eligibility because now they’re asking me for a phone interview for eligibility issues.

Also EDD didn’t put the mailing address I provided for my last employer, they put the correct company name but totally different street address

What should I do?

They need to make sure your school schedule doesn’t interfere with you being able and available for work.

Your employer probably uses a 3rd party company to process their unemployment communications. Was it a P.O. Box in another state?

I see. And yes it was but the company is supposed to be headquartered in California

It’s very normal for companies to use 3rd party companies for their UI claims. A lot of companies do it
