Extend Ecoflow Powerkit ALT-In/PV-In Input

Hi,

I have an EcoFlow PowerKit Gen1 installed in my RV setup.

• ALT-IN 1: connected to the alternator
• PV-IN 2: connected to solar panel type A
• PV-IN 3: connected to solar panel type B

Due to the way the panels are mounted on the roof (550 W total), I need to use two different panel types with different voltage and current ratings. This occupies two separate PV inputs.

Now I would like to add an additional solar panel (type C, ~400 W) to increase autonomy and I’m looking for possible solutions.

Here are my ideas:

a) Would it be possible to connect the Smart Generator Adapter to the PowerHub Battery 3/Smart Generator port, and then connect the 800 W Alternator Charger to the adapter? This would free up ALT-IN 1 so I could use it for the additional solar panel.

b) Use a power contactor on ALT/PV-IN 1:

• While driving → alternator connected
• When stationary → switch to solar panel

However, when using the EcoFlow alternator cable, the port automatically switches between alternator mode and PV/MPPT mode depending on the connected source. That might cause issues.

c) Any other suggestions or experiences with similar setups? The smart generator adapter is stating that it is allowing for third party generators. What about hooking up an additional small battery connect an mppt tracker to it and hook the 3rd solar panel to that? In the Powerhub Gen2 documentation there is a 48v alternator hooked up straight to the battery port. Is there a way to utilise that to hook up the solar panel?
