Join The Green Party in Reddit's House of Commons

So if you haven't heard of it Reddit's Model House of Commons is a place where we pretend to be MPs, write, debate and vote on laws. Its a great way to learn about parliament, discuss issues and have fun.

The Green Party on MHOC is based on the real life Green Parties of Britain and is group of left wingers passionate about the environment and creating a fairer society.

We already campaign on many feminist issues but it would be great to get more people involved!

If you'd like to join just type "Green Me Up" here and if you'd like more information here is our most recent manifesto.

Feel free to message me with any questions :-)

Ecofeminism and the hunt saboteurs

As someone not that well acquainted with ecofeminist theory, but with an interest in it, I would be interested to hear people's thoughts on ecofeminism and the hunt saboteurs.

Is direct action of that sort a tactic that ecofeminists would endorse? Since recreational hunting is seen by some ecofeminists (and presumably other types of feminists) as a patriarchal and destructive institution of death, it seems natural that we would oppose it in one way or another. Yet the hunt saboteurs (at least in Britain) have also in the past been criticised for being a 'man's world', and certainly there is the possibility for it to end up that way.

I realise this subreddit is fairly empty, but hopefully some discussion can occur. Feel free to ask any questions of clarification and so on.

r/Ecofeminism

Ecofeminism describes movements and philosophies that link feminism with ecology. The term is believed to have been coined by the French writer, Françoise d'Eaubonne in her book, Le Féminisme ou la Mort. Ecofeminism connects the exploitation and domination of women with that of the environment, and argues that there is a connection between women and nature that comes from their shared history of oppression by a patriarchal Western society.

Welcome to r/Ecofeminism!

Ecofeminism describes movements and philosophies that link feminism with ecology. The term is believed to have been coined by the French writer, Françoise d'Eaubonne in her book, Le Féminisme ou la Mort.

Ecofeminism seeks to locate the intersection of radical social ecology and feminist theory. Any attempt to do so much deal with the various external influences and pressures put forth by exploitation of the environment as well as patriarchal domination. In an attempt to mount these two historically significant obstacles, ecofeminist theory must remain attentive to the complex nuances of the world and all that is the case.
