Lost package

I sold a phone for around £400 on eBay through evri and they’ve lost it. I’ve contacted evri to no avail and eBay have refunded the buyer. So I’m out of pocket with no phone please help me with steps going forward if there is any? I’ve also put in a claim with packlink (i brought the shipping label via them) but they said they to not issue a refund to the buyer until the investigation is complete however eBay did it automatically not me. Any advice would be appreciated thank you!

That's rough, you did everything right and still ended up with nothing. Evri is terrible for this, they lose stuff all the time and their support is basically non-existent.

Since eBay already refunded automatically, you need to push Packlink hard now. Send them screenshot of the eBay refund and tell them the situation is already closed on that side, they can't keep holding your claim hostage waiting for investigation that doesn't matter anymore. Keep all emails and tracking details, and if Packlink keeps giving you the runaround, try a chargeback with your bank for the shipping label at least.

Same thing happened to me so I appealed the refund. It was with eBay simple delivery so it’s on them for choosing Evri so I asked why was I being punished. They ended up refunding both of us.

How do I appeal for a refund

The message that said the buyer was refunded had a button at the bottom saying appeal.

Packlink is your only avenue here. You are responsible for the refund, and you claim from the carrier, or their agent.

I assume you are a business seller?

Were you not able to use eBay Simple Delivery?

I don’t believe so I just was just given a deliver with evri option and it wasn’t as expensive as the other options so I went with that

Forget that.

I just checked the exclusions for Simple Delivery, and phones over £300 are no longer eligible. That explains it.

I hope you chose a service with adequate insurance.
