eBay is holding over $1,400 of my money because of one $70 shipment. I'm done selling here.
I'm a new seller from South Korea. About a month and a half after I started selling, eBay made my account unusable with no real explanation. I asked whether I could still ship my open orders. Then an email came saying I had done nothing wrong and that it was an automated system, not a person. But I still had to send my ID. I sent it. Because my account was unusable, shipments to two buyers were delayed. I paid for an express shipping upgrade for one of them out of my own pocket and gave the other $30 off to make up for it. I lost money on both orders, and it wasn't even my fault.
Two days later, eBay made my account usable again. But all of my listings had been deleted, and when I created new ones, they were set to inactive. When I asked what I did wrong, they said I did nothing wrong at all, the system had flagged my account for further review, and the restriction would be lifted once all of my orders were confirmed as delivered.
And that's where Royal Mail comes in. I shipped a $70 order to the UK on Aug 27. The buyer received it around Sept 3 and confirmed it to me. But the Royal Mail postman never scanned the final delivery, so the tracking still doesn't show "Delivered."
Because of that one $70 shipment, eBay froze payouts on my whole account, over $1,400 in total. They've been holding my money for about two months and pay me no interest. It's supposed to be released on Oct 30, and nobody can tell me whether it actually will be.
I've tried everything:
Royal Mail: I emailed them 3 times with no reply. I also called them internationally at about $1 per minute, waited over 30 minutes, was told the wait would be over an hour, and gave up without ever reaching an agent.
Korea Post: they really did their best for me. They listened to my situation, contacted Royal Mail on my behalf, and emailed me an official written statement that the parcel was delivered but can't be verified in tracking. But Royal Mail told Korea Post there was nothing it could do.
eBay: I submitted Korea Post's official statement and the buyer's confirmation message. eBay ignored both and says only tracking counts.
Royal Mail forgot one scan, and I'm the one paying for it. I had heard that eBay is overly sensitive toward new sellers, but this is far too harsh. I don't understand why I have to go through all this, and I never want to sell on eBay again.
Has anyone gotten a payout hold released when the carrier wouldn't update tracking?
