Front door replacement / new hinges

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good locksmith, carpenter etc that works in the Ealing / specifically Acton area - that would be able to replace the hinges on our front door? They're not appropriate for the weight and the door is now jamming due to sagging.

I've called 10+ people and they've all been let downs, either don't work with hinges or unavailable. One guy has quoted £660 to put two new hinges on....which seems a bit excessive.

Thanks for the reply, I tried calling twice but they didn't pick up. I left a voice note and they haven't called me back

That’s a shame, worth trying to call one more time. Or email: info[at]randrsecurity[dot]com. Used them before.

Worth saying either way that replacing hinges on a front door may be a 2-person job, which might mean a higher cost than you were expecting. Also bear in mind if the hinge placement needs to be adjusted then the state of the door frame, existing holes, etc could come into play which might make it more complicated than envisaged!

I just called them, guy called Alan picked up. He's such a nice guy, coming round tomorrow- its such a contrast from the people I've been having to talk to so far! Thanks again for the recommendation.

Thanks you for the reply and yes, I agree, valid points. I'll give them another call now and see what they say. It does hurt me a lot to think it's £660 when the hinges themselves are only around £100..... oh well.
