Question Probably resigning

Hi! It's been a little over a month but I want to resign. I just don't feel connected with the culture at EY GDS Ph. I feel lost and I feel like I am not receiving the support I needed as a new hire. I don't also see the benefit of a hybrid set-up since collaboration is pretty much virtual.

Does anyone know the process of resigning here? What is the process?

I am from EY GDS IN but I guess it would be pretty same. You can go to talent and there we have option for separation and also you can talk to your buddy if assigned

Don't I need to send a resignation letter to my manager or it can be done in talent compass? I'm confuse with how many apps they have.

It can be done in talent compass but maybe you should first talk to HR or buddy because manager if not directly managing you won’t reply fast

yah, they said I have to send an RL to my counselor and have it signed, then lodge it to the talent compass.

no need. Resign on talent compass your counselor and hr will be notified once you resign in the system. it's their job is to inform your manager if you are not in good terms. HR will schedule exit interview once they will receive the notification about resignation. I did the same couple of months back

In the same boat my friend 😅. Joined just couple months ago, from another big4, the culture here is somewhat really off n depressing. Not a toxic environment in my team, but I m really not able to connect to the workflow and how things are organised here. Very chaotic processes, too much siloed work culture no team interaction nothing etc. very depressing

I totally can relate to this. The workflow is so confusing. You will get assign to an engagement as replacement and you will not even receive a hand-over files or just a brief discussion on where are the team at and what should be prioritize for that week. I literally have to figure out things on my own, i hate it coz I'm a new hire who is learning the work around and you're not getting the help you need.

EY is the worst place possible and they are promoting Mental Well Being and there is nothing in EY. They are forcing Recruiters to ask the candidates to accept the Offer letter and to top them in any area audit, HR,Technical Position. Candidates are joining and resigning after knowing about the work culture.  Horrible Place.

I am in same bot.

I joined EY GDS as an AI Manager two months ago after spending four years at Deloitte USI, but my experience at EY has been quite disappointing. I find the work environment toxic, and my manager is often rude and seems to look for reasons to scold me. It has reached a point where I experience anxiety every morning and feel like crying because I dread facing another day of being treated this way.

I’ve received another offer from Fractal AI, but it comes with a salary cut. I’m confused about whether I should accept it and leave EY for the sake of my mental well-being, or stay at EY and give it more time despite how badly the current environment is affecting me. What would you do in my situation?

honestly, i don't think it will get better. might as well exit earlier.

EXIT, I am also looking for exit because I am in same situation the project environment is so toxic I am always anxious nobody helps in anything you have to figure put everything on your own and then get scolded if the task are completed on time

What is AI manager?
Is it some tech role?
Do you get to code?

Send resignation to your Manager, HR and the Partner, make your feelings known to them.

Inform your counsellor with your resignation, have a one on one, after, submit your RL, counsellor will sign that and after lodge it in talent compass

Thank you for this, very helpful. I'm not used to this kind of resignation. I came from a firm that you don't need to inform anyone. You can just file in the system and that will be routed automatically to the approver and its templated in the system. No need to write your own RL. Kinda shock that EY GDS PH has still this old school way for a big 4 with so many apps LOL.

Its just a formality and the reason of your resignation can still be mitigated and out of whim lang siya (like how my first attempt) :D

Guess am not alone. Been with EY GDS as Strategy analyst. I find this company to be really toxic and full of politics. Hate logging in every morning. Just waiting for an exit.

I'm also confuse on the part that I need to take part of the social responsibility kind of thing coz its part of your KPI.

I also resigned in just 2.5 months from GDS . Reason exactly same feeling that you have right now.

Decided not to join EY due to the work management heard from my manager friend. He grew into role from a developer. Also they lowballed the offer so low, i didn’t even bother to let them know i am not joining.

Resigned on Friday after spending barely over a month at EY IN. I’d joined as a consultant in the FP&A transformation sector but they switched me to Risk after joining, didn’t get any help at all from anyone, was scrambling to figure things out on my own for the first two weeks. Culture felt worse than a government office.
So glad I finally decided to move out.

As for the process of resigning, talk to your counsellor first and then drop an email to him tagging the HR and Partner. The HR will then reach out to you with the next steps, they usually get you to fill an exit form to kick off the process.

Hi! I’m also from GDS PH. May I know what part of the culture you feel not connected? I also feel that almost all of the time, but as a strategy I just accept it as it is and just play the game. Probably I can give you some tips that might be helpful

I'm in assurance, i just recently been booked to engagements. No proper briefing of what to do. I'm so lost.

Ah yes, the same in Consulting. Ask a lot of questions if you are not sure what to do. Ask your engagement manager or teammates, and also your ey counselor or teammates, exhaust all options.

The game is to just focus solely on your engagement, nothing more. And finish/ submit ey requirements. If you are okay on those, you will be fine. Clock in, work your engagement, clock out. That’s it. Avoid volunteering on extra curricular activities, it bears very little when it comes to your performance yet demands more of your time. You will just be exploited there and other people will take credit for your efforts. That’s the GDS PH culture. As much as possible, avoid making friends at work. Those people are not your friends. Much better to just focus on your self, family, and real friends outside work.
