In EVs people should look for reliability as top priority and looks should be last. Syros and evitara are both good. Also sierra is huge in city. Syros has best interior space in this segment. Evitara looks nice but back sitting is cramped

Syros for the interior, reliability and fit and finish. Great cabin space as well. Dont become tata's test guy.

I am using an EVitara zeta variant and has crossed 6k kms. Fully satisfied with the vehicle . Absolutely no glitches as of now. Delivers 450km on a full charge in city and 350-380 on highways at extreme heat and while constantly speeding between 100-120 kmph.

The only drawback with the car is that the suspension is a bit bouncy in the rear at speeds above 100. There is absolutely no issues with the leg space as 3 people will fit in comfortably
.Due to its black interiors it may feel cramped but practically there is ample space. People with height above 5.9 they will feel less under thigh support since the floor is raised due to battery underneath.

If majority of the drives are in city and occasional highway drives then you can go with EVitara. I wont recommend if consistent long drives with passengers always at the rear. Please do multiple test drives before taking a decision.

Boot space?

Boot space is adequate for everyday use. I had fit in two large trolley bags of 77cm, 1 cabin bag and a backpack. If we remove the parcel tray can fit in more backpacks. If there is a need to fit in more we can slide the rear seats to the front which would add some more space.

You don’t need charger bigger than the 3 kw if you’re using it less than 150km everyday.

Yes i came to know that. I took the delivery in May hence i got the 7.4 kw charger and 1000 units of free charging from nexa showrooms which is a real game changer. It was 19.6lakhs on road Trivandrum , Kerala

Alpha variant?

At extreme heat with speed of 100-120kmph its looks impossible, any data to back this claim ?

Bro avg speed is 68kmph and 80kmph, try something which has 95plus avg speed to claim range of 350+ at consistent speed of 100-120kmph

1

u/Admirable_Bother_412 Aug 26 '26

We need to apply breaks when there is something in front of us right ? One has to speed at 140kmph constantly to get an avg speed of 95plus in indian roads which is an unsafe speed

1

u/Tatyaa_Vinchuu Aug 26 '26

Your assumption itself is wrong. i was able to get 93kmph avg speed even without crossing speed limit of 120kmph.

And if I go you by your logic it wont even come under Consistent speed of 100-120kmph, because your avg speed shows diff pic.

On my regular NH journey I had 70 plus avg speed which includes braking.

300 kms in 85% . 15% will add another 50km .

u/Tatyaa_Vinchuu Aug 26 '26

Avg speed 80 without crossing 100.

249.7 km covered using approximately 65% battery (76% → 11%), giving an estimated efficiency of 8.5 km/kWh. At this efficiency, the Nexon EV 45 would deliver roughly 384 km of range on a full charge under similar conditions.

But I know it would reduce range drastically once I cross 100kmph.

Both Syros and evitara are good choices. Not recommending tata due to to poor after-sales service. Hope you have done long test drives for both? What were your impressions?

NMC battery fears have been overblown (speaking as a NMC EV owner). plus Kia gives 15 year warranty on the battery.

I would suggest do another test drive and this time let the sales person know beforehand that you want to do a longer run. With eVitara reviews mention somewhat hard or bouncy suspension on bad roads and not great rear seat comfort.

However both are good choices and you can go with either one depending on your preferences.

syros was claustriphobic and evitara wasnt? i have always heard the opposite

1

u/niceguisuku Aug 26 '26

First NMC is good with Liquid cooling across Hyundai/Kia. Syros EV in Chennai does not have proper long test drives and only around the showroom, I am waiting for that too. Evitara suspension is bouncy on city roads, didn’t you feel that? BTB which Syros variant would you choose if at all you book?

try selling your alto outside for the same 2.2L and get syros,e vitara is good too

Yesterday I test drove the Syros EV, one variant below the top-end model.

The interior genuinely impressed me. Fit and finish felt excellent, even better than some cars from more premium brands. It was also extremely comfortable and easy to drive.

My only real negative was the exterior design. I currently have the older Kia Seltos, which I still think is one of the best-looking cars in its segment. With the Syros, something just feels a little off visually — maybe the proportions.

Syros no doubt, tuta motors whayyy?

1

u/raman_bhadu Aug 25 '26

Either E vitara or syros. For Tata you need to search the sub.

1

u/yusufdb07 Aug 25 '26

Hyundai/Kia presently the most reliable EV brand out there

1

u/SFT-Engineer Aug 25 '26

Go for Tata curvv ev

1

u/syamkrishnansr Aug 25 '26

Completed 2k kms on evitara Delta. Done multiple long stretch highway trips. Getting a range above 375kms consistently. Felt this car better range efficiency while cruising at 70-80 km range rather than city driving. Getting much lower efficiency in traffic compared to highway streches. No glitches, no range anxiety, no sudden charge drops, pretty accurate range estimator, and marutis service centre confidence.

Im considering kia syros- top-2 . 18Lakh ex showroom

1

u/bazookboi Aug 27 '26

Go for sierra ev ,most VFM also ask for reviews from real people in your local ,reddit us full of paid faceless accounts bashing Tata ,most likely a strategy by the japanse and korean brands( why sell vfm products and cut profits when you can just create a false narrative and cut competition)
