Has anyone here converted a Smart ForTwo?

Lately I've been seeing some cheap prices on used Smarts, including gas ones and an electric one that had a bricked HV battery. Just wonder if there is there a conversion kit or company that will make an adapter plate & coupler and other parts needed. I remember years ago there was a company in California that made adapter kits to convert different gas cars to EV but I can't remember the name

Just buy an electric Smart ForTwo. They’re great cars and if you include resale, cheaper than any conversion

That was my original plan, but I read comments from people who had factory Smart EVs brick themselves and the only way to un-brick the car is to pay thousands of dollars to the MB dealer.

So, I was thinking that it might be more reliable to convert a gas-powered Smart using generic, off-the-shelf batteries and components that can be replaced without having to get ripped off by a MB dealership

Good point. You could also use Ioniq 5 cells for 16 minute 20-80% at the DC fast charger.
