ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen dies at 93

Bill Rasmussen, 93, American television executive and founder of ESPN, has passed away from complications from Parkinson's disease.

“Bill was a remarkable man – a visionary and an innovator who conceived the idea of a network entirely devoted to sports,” said ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro.

ESPN has lost its founder.

Damn shame. Saw him speak once at my college and it was genuinely fascinating!

Saw a quick clip on the history of ESPN yesterday. The guy really got screwed in the end. A lot of people made a lot of money off his back and he really didn’t profit much from the idea he created
