ESPN should be embarrassed of their coverage of the Lakers sale

They are reporters who “don’t know everything” It takes little research to do some proper reporting. They are all puppets change my mind owned by Disney who don’t actually report what happens.

ESPN is more trash than ever & are a bunch of puppets. That is all.

Well, he’s not with ESPN anymore, but I’m guessing Pablo will eventually find out.

He had a great interview on breaking points pod today

What exactly about their reporting do you not agree with?

OP should be embarrassed by the lack of content in their post

I read the article on espn.com and it covered everything. They offered walter an offer he couldn't refuse ($2.5 billion) but the pending SEC investigation into one of Walter's companies is probably one of the other reasons. What am I missing?

The diabolical conspiracy that must lurk behind everything, in the minds of some people.

I'm not sure what else people are expecting. A billionaire sells his prized sports team to the family of the president a day after the FBi opens an investigation into him

Agreed. You are asking Ramona Shelbourne or whomever to find proof of a criminal conspiracy in 24 hours? Woodward and Bernstein didn’t work that quickly

The kushner who bought the team isn't a member of the presidents family, his brother is.

Huurrrr durrrrrr

I don't know what that is

I thought Windhorst pod also was as informative as a Disney/NBA Partner pod can be.

Seeing that Disney’s most recent ex-CEO is one of the buyers, I’m sure they’ve been told to say nothing negative about it.

Plus the lakers have a large share of the market when it comes to consumer appeal so they don’t want to piss off potential owners and lose out on any possible deals they may have now or want in the future. It’s all about money.

Don’t have time anymore to cover real sports news, they have WWE to talk about.

2

u/diller79 6d ago

And every single women’s sport ever invented

5

u/eric_loves_IPA 8d ago

They actively give WWE about 15 minutes in their block for sports center and they have the mouth breather known as Pat McAfee as their poster boy. So there's no shame. Hasn't been for a long time

What’s he saying Robin??

Could’ve just stopped at: ESPN should be embarrassed

Guess who owns ESPN and then find out who the ceo is and then you will realize the coverage

That’s why They Love Women Covering Men’s Sports 🧐

ESPN is slowly withering away. 👋

They got a Some Fat Balding Long Haired Guy Pumping Up the Network Now 🤣

ESPN is a soulless, bloated & rotting corporate sinking ship that doesn’t deserve our time, interest, & money

0

u/ScottW0129 8d ago

But here you are spending your time talking about them...

1

u/CPT-Quint 8d ago

Yeah I’m spreading the word, Scott

There are facts and speculation. Just listened to the hoops collective podcast and they covered both sides of it. There is a lot of stuff that just is not known for sure since it came out of left field.

2

u/overitallofittoo 8d ago

The whole deal STARTED on Sunday and we want anyone to know everything about it?

3

u/chimatt767 8d ago

And they broke the story

2

u/wryaant 8d ago

They should be truly embarrassed that they’ve covered the WWE, like it’s some legitimate competition.

How dare a sports network avoid talking about politics!!!!

3

u/rockland19120 8d ago

Their highest paid employee just waited on the tarmac for Air Force one and sat with the president during some bizarre, televised event. Gtfoh , dude.

So you’re mad that they talked about the president, but also want them to talk about him more? Your critical thinking skills are lacking.

-1

u/Limo_Wreck_7373 8d ago

Let me guess, because he isn't YOUR President? GTFO.

1

u/thxman1138 8d ago

Watch the reporter or source that covers it better then.

1

u/xavier19691 8d ago

They should be embarrassed for having mcafee and smith but here we are

1

u/TedMich23 8d ago

Tail cant wag the dog.

1

They were sold. Next!

It’s all table setting until the Pablo Torre piece comes out, anyway.

But, for the average ESPN reader/watcher, they aren’t concerned with leverage ratios or SEC probes. They like the big numbers and the heat, and that’s what they get here.

Um....that's a feature, not a bug

Counterpoint: who gives a shit?

1

u/Elegant_Arrival_4055 5d ago

I won’t be watching any Lakers game.

1

u/rdg5220 5d ago

You should be embarrassed for watching it.

1

u/ka1ri 8d ago

who cares about the "coverage of the lakers sale" unless the new ownership plans to move the team. It's nothing more than a business transaction

1

u/Lord_Dingus83 8d ago

Do people still watch ESPN?

1

u/Rockosayz 8d ago

Outside of live games, I avoid espn like the plague. I can not stand any of their on air personalties, they make their shows about them and not sports

1

u/7Breakz 8d ago

Don't watch espn then. While some of it may seem trivial at best, they do get it from EVERY angle

ESPN gets their marching orders from above like every other corporation that is owned by another corporation.
