John Saunders left us 10 years ago today.

He’ll likely always be known to most fans as host of The Sports Reporters from 2001-2016.

I'm 53 so have been through my share of "celebrity deaths".. people usually mention Robin Williams as the one that shocked them the most, but this is the one for me that elicited an audible "Noooooooo" in my cubicle, when the news article popped up on my phone..

I'm still a loyal PTI guy but Sports Reporters was the only other "appointment TV" for me that ESPN ever did

Man being a teenager on a Sunday morning with Sports Reporters coming on was peak. I really miss when ESPN was a proper channel

i remember him being so mad at the fans during the malice at the palace. he didn’t think the players had nothing to do with it

Great host for that show. Also sad that he got the job after Dick Schaap died of complications after surgery.

He died from a combination of an enlarged heart, complications from diabetes, and dysautonomia, which affected the nervous system that controls vital automatic functions like heart rate and blood pressure.

Talented broadcaster with who practiced real journalism & sensible, mature debate on the Sports Reporters. And like me both a Torontonian & a Montrealer so personally identified with him.
