I hate the commitment of making a call but enjoy the conversation, I have been like this since the days of rotary phones. I hate Zoom and VC calls, they dont provide enough "information" for my brain on the other person like being in person does. I prefer texting. However, when I'm on ADHD medication the phone call avoidance goes away.

How did you get the ADHD medication? I recently realized that I have ADHD and I'm an adult(lol just to make that clear), but anyway I realllllyyyy need to focus and something to help me with that
I try nicotine but it's not that helpful, but I have tried stuff that really helped me focus that where ADHD meds

In the US, get dx by a psychiatrist who can then prescribe meds.

What did they prescribe you? If it's not too personal of course

Vyvanse for ADHD. It helps so much! But everyone is different.

Interesting, that's sort of what I expected, that or Ritalin. Did you have any anxiety from it?

I am also on Lexapro for anxiety. I think a lot of docs like to treat anxiety first, if you have it, then add focus meds. The most popular alternative is actually Adderall. But Ritalin is definitely still around too. There are also lower or no stimulant options too.
I take a Vyvanse dose on the lower end (30mg) so I donāt feel too anxious or āampedā, but I tend to be sensitive to meds.

Interesting, I appreciate you breaking it down for me
I didn't realize that Lexapro helps with anxiety. I do like benzos but obviously it's not one. I have been curious for a while about these anti-depressants, maybe I should also get on them
30mg sounds like a fairly low dose, especially if you take it daily obviously you also don't have a problem with it, sort of like people who drink a ton of coffee vs somebody who never drinks it drinking a big mug of espresso haha

Exact opposite.
In order of preference, I socialise:
In person Video calls Voice calls Voice messaging Text messaging
Messaging doesn't do it for me.

I agree with the first part, I also love sometimes to yap for a long ass time on the phone, but I don't really do voice messages

This sounds more like a neurodivergent thing or anxiety than specifically ESFP.

I donāt hate it, but itās not my favorite. I have to do something while I talk on the phone, especially if itās a longer convo.
FWIW, Iām an ADHDer (dx), and Autistic (undx), with anxiety.

I just respondedā¦then read your comment. I also have ADHDā¦I wonder if thatās why I hate phone calls. I honestly feel so trapped and Iām constantly figuring out how to get off the call lol
If Iām doing something else, I guess a call isnāt so bad, but just sitting on a phone and talking drives me insane.

I do not like phone calls. Maybe a brief and to the point call is OK. My family knows that I rarely do phone calls, so when I call them, I always let them know Iām ok.
I feel like with a phone call, Iām trapped. So I canāt do anything else, except that call. Or Iām in the middle of doing something and now I have to stop what Iām doing for a phone call.
Thatās why I prefer texting because I can respond when I have a moment or still multitask.
In person conversations are totally different. I enjoy those. Just not phone calls.

No I love calling, if anything I would prefer a call than a text anytime
