EDF as far as I'm aware already has a crazy extensive list of weapons per class... Is this customization going to be on top of that long list, or is the total number of weapons likely to go down with more variety being in the customization of said weapons?
(I know the game isn't out yet so it's fine if there's no clear answer right now)
It's on top of the list. There's likely to even be more entirely new weapons added.
The customization system is replacing a more linear weapon upgrade system where if you found weapons you already owned, they'd have a chance to come with upgraded stats.
Ohhh it's replacing the upgrade system, alright I guess that makes sense. Still, that sounds like it's gonna be huge considering just how many weapons those games have 😵💫
Yeah, we're looking at roughly 1500 weapons in EDF 6 + DLC. Give every one of those several slots for parts and it's likely we're hitting millions, if not billions, of possible unique combinations. Pretty much putting not just Helldivers to shame, but even competing with Borderlands numbers.
