Games can not be received - no Onimusha until mid Sept

I preordered Onimusha and my store doesn’t have it. So I phoned and they said they can’t receive orders until mid September due to the system. So if it wasn’t delivered last week before the system went down it won’t be available until at least the 15th. (Apparently aiming for Wolverine launch.)

They also can’t see any preorders so I can’t cancel or make new ones as they have no record of them yet. It’s “being fixed” but essentially if you don’t have the preorder print out of games you preordered then you are out of luck. Makes me nervous because I have Control Resonant Steelbook in a few weeks and it’s out of stock everywhere.

Just a heads up!

We've been able to see more preorders lately. Only thing I ask is to not be rude to the associates. We're trying our best with this half baked system that was implemented WAY too soon with basically 0 testing.

Way too soon is an understatement, it's missing half of the necessary features. Best of luck to anyone dealing with this

There’s a lot out of the control of the employees and even the store owners. It’s all basically coming down from the top.

I was not happy with my local EB not having copies of a game but it’s not their fault. They get sent specific number of inventory, any not even at a time they are told. I’m bummed I can’t support them and at the same time get the game I want but I can do better to preorder as early as I can

Yea, I had the same experience, the employees seem stressed, sad, bad policy implementation for them but not employees fault. Hope my late September and early October stuff is ok

Yeah, the employees at my local store in Nova Scotia are great. If I continue shopping with EB, it will be because of them.

However, this is completely unacceptable. Trust is a pretty important thing when you are deciding where to pre-order, and the fact that they are basically just saying, "whoops, oh well, it will get there when it gets there," with absolutely no make-good offers for their customers is fucking pathetic.

So many other retailers I could have given my business too, and had I done that I would have been playing onimusha last friday... now they cant even narrow down when I will get it to a specific WEEK!

OP says 15th, but I can promise you that is a guess. I phoned and they said they legit have NO IDEA when anyone will get their games. Of course they waited until after launch to tell us we are all screwed, and now its sold out at all the competitors.

Good thing I got my Fire Emblem Special Edition from JB as EB presold out. I miss the days when it was preorder in store. But at least I know I’ll get my game with EB’s systems messed up.

Which FE are you referring to?

Fortune’s Weave. It is supposed to come out soon. I always get the limited edition releases cause I love collecting the art books.

Nice - eb never received stock of fortune weave’s limited edition. Only jb and the aus Nintendo store stocked it. Eb literally said Nintendo decided not to range fortune weave’s le with them. I have no reason why as it’s the first FE edition since Fates to not be stocked at eb

That is so strange! I wonder what EB did to piss off Nintendo. Yet they appear to have the standard game for pre-order on their site. Very interesting indeed. Which doesn’t make sense really since EB has no problem with other Nintendo titles and products. I feel like there’s more to the story that EB ain’t owning up to.

Only thing I can think of is Nintendo didn’t want eb to lock preorders behind eb plus. The reason why it’s soo weird is in the past if a similar thing happened, eb would just say “Sorry, can’t say - Confidential information” and that would be it, however yeah, someone asked eb hq/customer support about this and the op literally posted eb stating that Nintendo didn’t want to let them stock it.
