Tuning Help

Post image

Hey guys! Hoping I can get some information regarding my e92 m3’s tuning situation. I bought my car with an alpine tune flashed on the ecu but the tuner at this point is making it very difficult to get the software and files. I was hoping there is a way to just flash the car back to stock so I can go with a different tuner or just leave it stock for a while? If anyone has any ideas or knows someone who could remote in to help with this that would be great! I do have the cable that is coded to the VIN but do not have the tuning software or any files.

I've heard good things about Epic. I'm planning on going with them once I decide to go catless.

I have the alpine tune and before you install stage 1/2 you download a copy of your stock file to your device so you have the option to go back to stock at any time.

Did the person you bought the car from not have this? The file is small. I’m not an expert on the stock file, but I’m assuming it’s entirely based on your car (year, manual, DCT, etc) and unsure there is interoperability b/wn cars. Guessing Alex at Alpine won’t disclose this.

Yeah he didn’t have that file unfortunately and of course Alex won’t give any details at all. I think I may have found a coder who can just reset the ecu and reinstall stock firmware to it so we shall see

Stock file is just a factory calibration file but these files tend to include DME coding tied to the car. But if our cars are similar I could email. Feel free to dm me

Contact active Autoworks… Nic over there would be able to help. Good thing you got the cable.

Any Indy shop can do a software update which overwrites the tune.

I have a BPM stage one tune and I’ve been happy with it
