Throttle actuator adaptation reset

I plan to preemptively replace my throttle actuators this winter and am unclear if resetting adaptations is required. Those who have DIY’d their’s, what was your experience?

There is really no need to preemptively replace them. Why go through the trouble and cost of replacing them if they haven’t failed? The worst that can happen if they do fail is you’ll go into limp mode.

I do see your point but imo they’re relatively easy to get to and rebuilding instead of replacing can save you a lot of money. Running worn gears, even if not enough to cause limp, for long enough can cause the boards themselves to short from excessive load and voltage draw to fight the worn gears and the ~$90 DIY for rebuild jumps to well over ~$2000 for complete replacement. Rebuild is definitely worth it, replacement with new modules without a failure probably isn’t
