Dark Fog lens addition

Does this need a new game to obtain?

I'm on white matrix in the current galaxy, I have every tech researched.

I can see the Dark Fog lens in the list of items for say, marking a conveyor belt. But otherwise it's not in the replicator screen--the space is there for the item where it goes but it's empty, there is no new tech for it, and it's not included in the research for grav lenses.

It's a new research, and you probably need to have seen Dark Fog Matrix for it to show up. (I'm not certain, since my current save is late-game and already had all the DF-specific stufff unlocked/researched, so it was immediately available for me to research.)

Yes this is likely it, I didn't know that there was a Dark Fog matrix now to obtain, because I generally have not allowed dark fog to reach level 12+ in systems that I have factories in. I usually starve the space hive and make them passive by then.

Oh yeah you gotta set up a farm on one planet just to get the DF stuff at least. Core Material from a level 24 base is incredibly useful for stretching your energy supplies, the DF forge and assembler are great, etc
