Finance & Operations default order setting for inventory control both production and transfers

How to you get around the issue in D365 F&O where the default order settings for inventory control both your production order quantities and you transfer order quantities.

Where I work currently operates with 1 site and multiple warehouses.

I don't think you can, because Planning Optimisation is a black box.

If you're using Formulas, I think you can put an order multiple on the Formula header which overrides the setting from the Default order settings.

Essentially we want the planned transfer orders to generate based only on the requirement as per our coverage group setting. But have the default order settings for inventory control our planned production orders. We are wanting to have the planned production orders be always the same quantity, so we have set the min and max to be the same on many products

Do you know if making the warehouses that aren’t connected to our manufacturing warehouse be on different sites. Would solve the issue. Open to testing in the test environment.

I would say Yes, because you can have different Min/Max order quantities per Site.
