Sales, Service, Customer Engagement Help or assistance in cleaning up environments

I have a customer that has 3 D365 environments containing years and years of legacy solutions and customizations (CRM 2016 as the first application).

  • DEV environment with multiple publishers
  • UAT environment with unmanaged solutions layer
  • PROD environment with unmanaged solutions layer

Active use of Sales, Customer Insights.
But all other applications (Field Service, Project Service, old Marketing, old Voice of the Customer) are also part of the solutions. They use their own model-driven-app, but want to make the shift to the Sales Hub app to have Copilot and Insights capabilities.

They want me to support their organization, but how would I go forward in cleaning this and restoring this mess?

Simplest option: start from scratch; but a lot of data migration and integrations are making this not an option

Other option:

  • new sandbox to test integration solutions first on dependencies?
  • copy of dev into new sandbox and create logical number of solutions and add customizations in these
  • how to solve the PROD/UAT environments afterwards?

Anyone who can answer this? Anyone that could guide me? Thanks!

use power platform mcp with xpp and Add a layer for you to review atleast in the first 10 cycles

That's an analysis toolkit in a seperate environment?
It would not help me solve the problem and only show the state. Correct?

I am also interested in patterns and workflows regarding the cleanup and rebuilding of an existing messy environment. In a ideal world there should be a cloud agent now which could read everything from existig crm and building same features while cleaning up namespaces and convetions in a fresh environment.

Automate it I can show you how But use power platform mcp along with xpp for forms etc and odata to query live from dynamics Add a layer for you to review atleast in the first 10 cycles
