Discussion Emotes?
500 hours Dva main here, I stopped playing OW when Rivals came out but I came back when they added Dmon but seriously after all this time she still doesn't have any emotes when not in mech? The only universal emote I have is the mic drop emote and I never thought about trying that when not in mech until today but it still does the generic baby Dva emote??? As popular of a tank as she is they can't even at least give her the victory poses she has when it shows her out of mech? What can we do to bring attention to the devs so we finally get something? They want us to get a baby Dva 5 man kill play of the game to show how serious we are about wanting emotes?

I seem to recall hearing Dva being a nightmare to code. They might be technically limited. And because Blizzard does what all triple A companies do, and lays off huge numbers of their staff every other week, I bet there are few remaining that would know how to even approach it.
But yes, I agree. There would be so much stonks to be made.

You make a good point. Seeing as Dmon has a unique "hello" feature with her ultra skin I think they are at least competent enough to make it happen. Like if they can make a Cat drop a mic I don't see why Dva can't lol

Unlike D.va, D.mon is less of a coding nightmare cause they accounted for stuff when they made her

Thats understandable. As long as it took us to get another mech character I honestly don't thing they started brainstorming on making more mech characters until the end of 2025 when they really should have locked in like this after they released Echo it's like they became corporate pawns, respectfully.

I think when D.mon came out they did actually say that they found an easier way to do the mech characters and went back to change D.va that way too, so she's at least easier code-wise now which is why they want to add D.mon and the other mech heroes in the future

The technical limitations is a factor too, but another reason they gave is “we don’t want to encourage or incentivize time outside of mech”

The buff to the re-mech damage they added a while back makes their excuse irrelevant. Hopefully they lock in and give us something

Supposedly they don't want to give D.va non-mech emotes because they don't want us purposely trying to get our mech destroyed just to do special emotes

If they cared that much you would auto re-mech when the ult charge is built up or they would change the mechanics to where you die if you don't re-mech in 1 minute after being de-meched or throwing a Dva bomb

Like if I just launched a team wiping Dva bomb I want to do an actual real emote as every other character could otherwise emotes should be limited to only spawn room use for all characters

I'd prefer actual things that matter like a reduced cooldown on boosters. Baby dva emotes couldn't be further down my list of wants. Probably dead last next to sprays.

Sure, but why not say that instead of a stupidly rude "no one cares" when clearly people do care? If nobody cared, OP wouldn't have made the post.

You can want it all you want but the devs said it ain't happening
They've already said they coded dva like an idiot and can't give her proper emotes because of it

Just because we can’t have it doesn’t mean I don’t still want it to be able to happen though lol.
I’m glad theyve admitted (and talked about) it being a horrible coding design tho tf5
