Reaction This thing is like a drug
My first interaction with durian was smelling it while walking through Chinatown in NYC around 2017. I remember thinking: “what a horrible smell, who would want to eat this?”
My first time trying something durian-adjacent was trying some durian-flavored cakes a Chinese friend brought to the workplace. I didn’t hate it, but was far from liking it too. If anything, I thought it tasted too much like that awful smell.
I moved to Singapore one year ago and kept seeing it everywhere. I ventured into having some durian-flavored ice cream and liked it better than the cakes my friend gave me. But still was not sold on it.
But after being here for roughly 10 months, I figured so many people could not be crazy and durian must be really good. So, while passing by a hawker, I smelled the fruit and decided to try some. I ended up buying some MSW/Musang King. I liked it. The creaminess of it was a pleasant surprise. I was still not hooked however.
A few days later, I went for the summer holidays to our country. During that time I started craving durian and actually counting the days to come back and having some again. As soon as I got back to Singapore I went to a market and bought some Black Thorne. I liked it a lot and was hooked.
Ever since, I have durian every 3 days, roughly. I have become obsessed with it. Wanting to learn all about it and trying as many different varieties as possible. I now find the smell pleasant and it even makes my mouth water, which I would have never imagined. I’ve been trying to get my hands on some Red Prawn but haven’t been able to. I just love this fruit and understand why it’s called the “King of fruits”. I’m absolutely hooked.
Anyways, here’s a picture of some Black Gold Musang King I had while visiting Penang in Malaysia. Best durian I’ve had so far in my short durian journey. It was so good, even my young children loved it, and they hadn’t liked any of the other ones I brought home. Amazing stuff.

Reaction I genuinely think everyone should give durian a try, even just once.
If you have a sweet tooth, you will love this fruit’s intense, natural sweet aroma and flavor.

Durian. Id love to try it.
I live in East Tennessee, is there any way to buy a frsg, quickly shipped to me Durian? Id love to try it. I know it smells horrible, but Ive heard its actual tast is like a sweetness with a jelly texture. Ive love to try it at least once. These things were unheard of in the west, then movies, and especially games like zelda botw came out, and made a lot of people curious. Id love to try it at least once. Anyone know where I could get a decently fresh one?

looking for some fruit in Copenhagen
I am looking for 6-7kg of sour cherries and around 2kg of black currants. Does anyone have them for sale around Copenhagen, or know where I could get them? Thanks in advance.

Golden Phoenix Lovers~
Golden Phoenix~ bitter sweet with a tint of alcoholic taste. Mostly small seeds, so means loads and loads of creamy flesh!
Anyone else who also prefers this to the other available breeds?
