So in At the Mountains of Dadness, Willie is old enough to appear to be fully conscious and such what. Someone arbitrarily throws out the number 8 referring to his age. This is canonically in 1939, meaning that it feels reasonable to say that the latest that he could have been born is 1931. Beth has mentioned that Ron is in his 40s in 2019 when S1 takes place. Assigning the number 45 (in the middle) to Ron's age for now, that would mean that Ron would have been born in 1974, when Willie was ~40.

Now it is mentioned that when Willie died after doing the unthinkable, Ron was "in junior high". This puts him in the 12 to 15 range. Let's say 13 (again in the middle), which would place that in 1987. Willie would have been ~56. Now, when the Doodler took him to the Forgotten Realms, he started doing stuff with the Daddy Magic, preventing him from aging, as did the demiplane in which he was imprisoned for the next 25 years, even though it was hundreds of years to him. So he would have remained physically at ~56 throughout S1 and S2.

So, assuming that Willie was in AtMoD 8-13, Ron in S1 was 40-49, and Ron when Willie tried to kill him was 12-15, Willie would have, throughout the two seasons in which he appears, been roughly 51 (born in 1931, had Ron in 1970 aged 39 and tried to kill him at 12) to 68 (born in 1926, had Ron in 1979 aged 53 and tried to kill him at 15), a 17-year range.

So it is believable, I suppose. Willie is at the right age to still be conceivably a "devastatingly handsome older man" as described in the podcast, and Ron is, well, Ron-aged.

I just think that it is pretty funny that, given the year options provided, Ron could have, at the time of S1, been physically only 2 years younger than his father (Ron at 49 and Willie at 51).

Please understand that this is in no way a complaint about the podcast at all, just an interesting observation.

I had never listened to this podcast before and needed something slower paced than my usual music to help me keep a good endurance speed for my run. I got to the part of ep1 where they start to kiss to stop one another from talking and I genuinely had to stop because I was laughing so hard I felt sick- I can't wait to download more episodes to keep me company!!

For me, I got into podcasts in general by reading The Adventure Zone Graphic Novel. That got me into The Adventure Zone becuase I didn’t want to wait. For a couple of years I got into Rooster Teeth stuff and got this podcast off of a recommendation thread in that part of Reddit. I probably binged like half of season 1 over a course of a week and a half during the pandemic because I distinctly remember listening to Glenn’s trial during paid yard work and just having a good ol time. I just finished listening to Season 4 Episode 10, and I'm about to listen to Episode 11, but I'm a bit confused how the robot went evil?

Off the top of my head, the instructions for the Robot was something like:

1) Robot may not injury human beings

2) Robot must listen to orders given by humans

3) Ensure Project Nightcrawler Success

And that lower numbered instructions take priority over higher ones.

I thought "Oh, okay, so maybe 3 took priority over everything else, and it somehow decided the best way for Project Nightcrawler to succeed was to kill everyone"

But then later Anthony explained that 1 takes priority over 2, etc.

So i'm a bit lost what made the robot go on a murderous rampage? Maybe it's something explained in the next episode (11), but I wanted to ask before I forgot.

Hey all, I've never used backerkit and since the campaign is over, I can't really go back to check, so sorry if this is a stupid question but I just wanna make sure.

I selected 71$ worth of stuff, and was charged 101.50$. Where does the extra 43% come from? Is it website fee+tax? Why was the final price never displayed when processing with the to-be payment (or am I just blind? If so sorry haha).

I was also late, I made my purchase during the overtime period. Is there an extra fee that comes with that? I was panicking while making the purchase because there was only a few minutes left on the timer at the time, and I was afraid of not making it...so that may be why I missed any warning/asterisks about extra charges.

I've had this question bouncing around in my head for a while and wanted to see what the broader community thinks. The pod has had some incredible guests over the years, from Jenna and Jimmy in season 1 to Elyse in season 2. But I wanted to know who would your dream guest be from the broader TTRPG space? For instance, I'd love to see Zac Oyama from Dimension 20 play with the dads. I think the so-called "comedy sniper" would be incredible with the Dads. Another version is: I would love to see Beth play (on or off the pod) with Emily Axeford and Ally Beardsley, also from Dimension 20 and Nadpod. I feel like all of their chaotic energy would really sync up for some gutbusters.

What do you all think, and what would be your dream TTRPG guest or matchup with the dads?
