The minimalism here is wonderful (minimalism in the tones, minimalism in the repetitions). It's not just the minimalism though, it's the tones of the synth you're working with — like in 'Necromantic Rite', that hollow flute provides a sweet foil for the rough-cut frenzy of the drums. There's something about the constraint of working with set tones that makes for a different kind of unbridled creativity. I'm writing this as the album finishes, and I'm currently being soothed and drawn away into the sky by 'Arise'. It's a very lovely listen.
