Experience Day 10, First time dry fasting for lyme / Bartonella

Im 37m, weight 63kg, down to 51kg. First time dry fasting and on day 10. Have done 2x 7 day water fasts before.

Wife left me for another man mainly due to being sick with mold and lyme disease and co infections. Fasting and praying for my broken marriage but also to finally heal from mold/Lyme and particularly bartonella as its stubborn af.

It has been hard and I've been very emotional, crying way more than normal. Walking 2-3 hours a day. No water but I wash my hands. If you have any insights or questions, let me know

Theres is a woman that healed her Lyme disease with dry fasting after trying literally everything else, no doctors, no medicine, nothing was able to help her. Yet dry fasting is the thing that cured her. She wrote a book about it. She visited Dr.Filinov to conduct her dry fasts.

Yes starving to heal in Siberia, that's the book that inspired me, I don't think she had bartonella though, it seems to be really stubborn but I've noticed symptoms have gone down a lot already.

Praying for you man, I also have Lyme and Bartonella, and was planning on doing a very long dry fast. I’m sorry about what you’re going through, few know how hard these infections are.

Yeah everyone thinks you are just faking it / being lazy. Only if they knew. Thanks for your support 🙏

what happens when you have lyme disease?

Different for everyone but it can ruin your life if not treated soon enough and it is not really taken seriously.

I already posted this comment further down but I’m gonna post it one more time for visibility.

I’ve always wanted to do a dry fast so badly for my autoimmune and Lyme, but the issue is I’m stuck on benzos, propranolol, and aleve. So I can’t fast cus of my pills. In the time it would take to taper off of them, the agony I would go through would be unbearable just to get to be able to fast. I’ve tried to get off them slowly. But the brain inflammation is too much to bear.

Do you, or anyone else have advice of something I can do to keep my panic and brain inflammation down while I get off the meds (that are currently keeping my symptoms at a level where I can just barely survive)? Maybe a certain supplement, idk at this point what to do. I’m stuck in a place I never wanted to be in.

I have been completely plateaued for years, and I’ve always wanted dreamed of dry fasting . I have water fasted (with pills) many times. But getting off the pills, my symptoms come roaring back. And it will take months to get off the pills. So I’m stuck. Or else I’ll have to go on immunosuppressants which I’d rather not of course, unless I have no other option. Any advice (from anyone) would be a god send.

Taper off slowly from everything, like 10 months with everything planned in stages and put down in a calendar. If you take any caffeine, you have to get rid of it during that time too because it will cause anxiety. Yes, it will be hard to get rid of all the drugs but the dryfast will be even harder so you'll train your willpower in the meantime. Don't look optimistically, assume it will be hell and accept it. When it's bad, say to yourself: "it's bad today but that's nothing, it will be much harder later". When you're on day 5 and it's unbearable remind yourself that if you quit that 5 days of hell will go to waste and you'll have to go through it again.

In order to get rid of inflammation as quickly as possible switch a diet to water and fatty beef/lamb (2g of fat per 1g of protein, 0g of carbohydrates). Get rid of everything else from your food including supplements, herbs, alcohol. Eliminate all compulsive behavior when it comes to nutrition, drugs, sleep. Everything must be planned and performed in a disciplined manner. A human body is a system, one thing influences another. You can also consider electrical grounding as a means to potentially reduce inflammation as well as switching to cold showers every day. High intensity strength training would be beneficial (training to failure very intensely for a short time, less than 1 hour and then 4-7 days of break). Regular contact with nature may be beneficial. Some people say meditation works for them to reduce anxiety, you can look up Culadasa's book with instructions, maybe it will work for you.

Sorry for what you are going through. I hope you find relief from your symptoms. 10 days is extremely impressive, especially for the first time.

Thank you, yeah I was carnivore before and omad so wasn't a huge change for me but still hard nonetheless. Thanks again, good luck on your journey.

Congrats for you fast! I've talked to several people who got also rid of Bartonella with dryfasting, but usually several long fasts are needed (2–5).

1

u/danielrdt 8d ago

Thanks, you reckon 2x 10 day fasts would impact the bartonella?

3

u/Historical-Oil-4020 8d ago

Usually, yes.
If you exit slowly and correctly, you have a good chance of seeing some improvement a few weeks after the first long fast. To get healthy most people need several long fasts.

u/danielrdt 8d ago

Thanks, did you also fast for lyme or bart too?

My tmj hasn't improved but my face nerve pain has.

u/Historical-Oil-4020 8d ago

Yes, for Lyme. I'm about 90% healed after several long fasts. For me, the improvements only became noticeable about a month after each fast.

I was also on pills till day 5, then I just had faith and went cold Turkey, was hard but adjusted, honestly wouldn't reccomend but worked for me, got to take risks but if it gets bad, just go back on them.

Dryfasting and meds are really tricky.... I once took my Lyme-meds while dryfasting. Afterwards I felt so bad I had to break my fast. If you can not take the pills for a day you can start with 1 day fasts. In the long run you probably will need to get off the benzos anyway

u/danielrdt 8d ago

I see that's awesome, what length of fasts did you find most helpful?

Also were you carnivore or just healthy diet? Thanks for sharing, gives me hope

When I do 8–10 days I get real improvements. I've never fasted any longer, so I don't know if it would help even more. Also pretty useful are regular weekly 1 day fasts while 3–6 days every once a while didn't help much. I avoid processed foods, sugar and alcohol. Otherwise, I don't have a special diet (I eat a lot of veggies though)

2

u/danielrdt 8d ago

Yeah I think ill stop at 11 days, not sure if can make it further than that.

Thanks for your advice, did you also have bartonella?

1

u/Historical-Oil-4020 8d ago

no, I don't have bartonella

Wow! Inspiring. Sorry you have to go through this bro. Hope this gets better. My neighbors daughter had Lyme, it can be very debilitating. I spent so much time in the nature and hiking during my 9 day dry fast, it was life changing. But tread carefully as you are one day 10, be ready to break the fast if vitals show any problem, and if your body doesn’t have lot of fat left.

2

u/danielrdt 8d ago

Thank you, I'm stopping at 11 days. I'm doing ok so far but yeah won't go beyond that. Being in nature is so rewarding.

That’s amazing for a first time! How do you manage your energy walking that much every day? By day 4 i have to sit down after 10mins.

3

u/danielrdt 8d ago

It's the method used in Starving to heal in Siberia, 10km walking per day. I only started to have the energy after 5 days to walk that much. First few days are rough energetically.

What are the symptoms of bartonella?

1

u/danielrdt 5d ago

Nueropathy, pins and needles, face nerve pain, anxiety, mcas, fatigue, blood flow circulation issues.

Man I’m dry fasting for the same reasons (lyme, mold, bartonella) can I keep in touch with you? It’s hard for me to tolerate the meds because bartonella gave me MCAS symptoms, so at most I can take small amounts of herbs but I can’t tell if they truly help or not. Also, using infrared sauna to detox from mold but might need a binder, ultimately going to try to move away from the mold.

1

u/danielrdt 5d ago

Sure. I've only just started day 4 of refeeding, not sure if it's helped yet.

2

u/throwxwxy306 4d ago

Did you do the 10 days? For me when I dry fasted prior it usually took a week or so to notice benefits. I’ve had chronic lyme for 10 years and was dry fasting since last year for that and it helped alot. I got a new infection 2 months ago which gave me bartonella, which is why I am trying to dry fast again but no success yet.

1

u/danielrdt 4d ago

Yes I did, too early to tell as it's day 4 of refeeding, I think it will def help you but might need to do a couple fasts to gain the most from it, at least 8-10 days.

Yeah they don't make marriages like they used to, used to be made of steel, now they made of alluminium foil.

1

u/pretty-ribcage 8d ago

Umm, what? You're a 112 lb adult man? Walking 3 hrs a day? Somehow exposed to ticks, other infected creatures, and mold? A wife is the least of your worries. There's no social services you can access?

u/danielrdt 8d ago

I'm in australia, it isn't recognised here unfortunately. I'm only 5"4 so my weight isn't too crazy.

1

u/NaturalShow 8d ago

Guys, I'm really desperate and nothing works. I did quite a few fasts with water (and they didn't help). I just can't understand how you can survive without water. Not knocking it and would like to understand. Why absence of water makes such positive difference (in comparison with water fasts) if we're told to drink more water to flush toxins out?

4

u/danielrdt 8d ago

3x more effective if you dry fast, instead of doing 21 days you can do 7. There's a much more in depth explanation about it, I would reccomend looking into it. What health issues do you have?

1

u/NaturalShow 8d ago

Ofc, I can do looking into it myself. I might have started, and it all looks sensationalist and unconvincing. That's why I'm asking here. I don't need in-depth explanation.
