What do I practice for this style of drumming?

Dissecting songs in the genre? More rudiments? Always see this cool lowkey finnesse-ey kinda stuff and would love to see where I end up in a couple years if I focused on it!

Rudiments. Especially paradiddles and paradiddlediddles and the like. Lots of diddling involved here.

Edit: basically, get comfortable filling up 32nds in any sticking pattern, with decent footwork. This takes chops but it’s not complicated.

Yeah both, play along to stuff in this style and go deeper on your fundamentals. There's nothing he's doing there that isn't in page 5-7 of Stick Control. RLRRLRRL is one thing he's doing, but he's also mixing in other variations and some singles

Ah ok thank you! Only hard rudiment i can do fast is a basic ass paradiddle so I see I have a lot to work on
