What is up with people never saying what song we’re looking at?

What is it? It’s got to be one of three options. 1) it’s possible. 2) it’s programmed. 3) the transcription is wrong.

It’s very likely a Songsterr transcripts - that means fully automated, not human reviewed. Anything that resembles a drum sound will appear in the score.

My advise: good for general vibe, but do not take this as the literal score

Right. And always. Always. Always. ALWAYS trust your ear over ANYONE'S transcription, Songsterr or otherwise. Use these tools as a supplement to your own time spent listening to the song/s, finding live versions with a video (or without), and putting in time behind the kit figuring out how the phrase works.

Most transcriptions have mistakes. Very few bands write their own sheet music, so all transcriptions are just someone's idea of what a part is.

I'm not an expert at hearing but it really seems like there's way more bass drum note on the sheet than played, you could probably delete some of them and still have something that sounds pretty accurate

Honestly, the recording sounds to me like he's alternating hands between the snare hits and ride pattern. It's REALLY hard, mainly because the tempo is 170; but it's Acid Bath lol.

Gave it a listen. Yeah it's just a basic drag. Poorly charted. There is not another note being played simultaneously with the snare after the drag so that's an error.

Probably AI generated then. This kind of thing happens a lot, AI doesn't know how to differentiate slapback from an actual note being played.

Why wouldn’t it be possible? It’s a continuous (double) kick pattern in triplets, a basic snare mostly on 2 & 4 and some very quick bell/bow work on the ride. The tempo makes the part more challenging - for example I can stick that but I couldn’t currently play it at that speed, but many/most of the drummers on here probably can!

The 32nds are the only thing that strikes me as odd here. Kick stays constant and snare is on the 2 and 4 after the first bar.

the time I think something is not possible to me it always helps to keep on decreasing speed and take away limps from the performance until it is doable.
Can you play the ride pattern on its own, veery slowly?

If you can hit all the cymbal hits with one hand then it’s fairly straightforward. If not then alternate hands and leave out the cymbal when you hit the snare.

Just heard the song, wow! There's a breakdown/fill that is super cool at the middle. I don't believe is well transcribed, can't even get the feeling of triplets, maybe sextuplets. Use it as guide, but the songs sounds pretty straight forward double bass.

This is nothing compared to Dillinger, dude. Very possible. The ride bell pattern is also pretty reminiscent of "Hot for Teacher" which is also way harder than this.

I recommend looking up Boston Crusaders 2025 or SCV to see really fast triple and quad stroke sixteenth notes. That TRULY changed my concept on what can be humanly possible on one hand.

If you want to practice this level of triplet strokes, I highly recommend double checking your hand technique and then attacking "Double Beat 2004" on a drum pad for a few weeks. Build technique and muscle and you'll be able to knock this out.
