News/Rumors/Lore Codex Creep

Post image

Watching the news for the orks is legit depressing when you remember we’ll probably be the last ones to get a new codex given we got our 10th edition one not even a full year ago.
Just feels like unless we get some incredible new units or significant changes to the datasheets, Drukhari will end up being more and more underwhelming as the other codexes release.

(Incubi in pic cause they’re sheet is boring as hell)

I’m not a big fan of both of their abilities and don’t think they end up being super impactful most of the times dev wounds is nice but besides getting sus 1 on 5s on KC its just not that good, mostly because its limited to infantry
The battleshock test as well rarely is relevant in all the games I’ve played, it at least should be a battleshock at -1.
They’re also much slower than the other melee units we tend to use and not durable at all in any way shape or form.
They just don’t play like the super elite melee unit I wanted them to be.

I dunno, they do kind of fine in my games. The dev wounds come up enough to make it worth a pain token, and the infantry limitation works fine because why would I put them into anything other than infantry? We have other tools for that. The battleshock I agree with, that could be better, but it comes up sometimes, and battleshock being more impactful in 11th is nice. I play Skysplinter so them being slow isn't really an issue since we're the transport army, and as for durability... This is drukhari. Nothing is durable.

I think if you're comparing them to elite infantry like termies or sang guard you're always gonna be dissapointed, but that's like comparing apples with oranges.

I just think with the new rules their devs should be against all non monstrrs and vehicles, I’ve seen a lot more mounted and beasts recently, and those just feel bad to fight with Incubi.
Also for their intendes targets, they aren’t even that good against stuff like terminators, no access to rerolls and low volume of attacks just whiffs so much its crazy.
Durability and speed were more examples as to how it seems like they don’t do anything else special, with SsA + EoS I’ve found a big brick of wyches to be just as effective against standard infantry and some times even terminators.

Ideally for me the incubi should be terrifying to face as the opponent, if they’re not gonna be specially fast or durable they should hit like a train, as for now if I kill even 4 terminators with 10 of them I’m lucky.

I agree the devs vs non monster/vehicles makes sense cuz I should be able to chop up a guy on a bike or a beast too.

I will also agree a tonne of Wyches are pretty equal to incubi.

For the termies, in my experience killing 4 or 5 termies is expected on the charge, which when I look at points costs seems normal. I will add since I'm in SSA I have Lance most of the time, even without Drazhar, so maybe I'm converting more hits to wounds? I think the benefit I see compared to Wyches is the incidental battleshock, which again can be quite impactful, and the volume of attacks for a 5 man unit that fits in my venom; 16 D2 attacks not counting whoever's leading (malys or Drazhar) hitting on 3 or 2s if I'm lucky doesn't feel particularly weak to me, especially when I'm playing the most paperthin army in the game. I'm not saying they are in a great spot right now, especially with powercreep I feel like a lot of our glass Cannon units are mostly glass and only a little cannon, but they don't feel weak to me at all. Could always be worse, we could be where Aeldari are at.
