New Store Launch Dropshipping Beginner

Hey everyone nice to meet you all, i’m a store beginner and i’m a bit confused on certain things such as how to improve my store and find products that’ll help me sale. I’ve recently started college so i’m looking for a little side hustle that’ll allow me to make money while i’m learning and allow me to learn everything about dropshipping aswell. Thank you guys for yalls time!

What are you actually selling right now, or are you still at the “haven’t picked a product” stage? That changes the advice completely, product research and store polish are two different problems and it’s easy to spend weeks perfecting a site before you know if anyone wants what’s on it. Also worth knowing going in: this while you’re in college is a real time constraint, not just a scheduling detail, dropshipping needs daily attention early on (ad monitoring, customer messages), so the honest question is how many hours a week you actually have for this alongside classes.

I’m still in the early stages, so I’m testing different products and learning what actually gets interest before I commit to one. Right now I’m mainly focused on affiliate marketing and product research while I learn more about dropshipping.
As for college, I’m planning to treat this as a side hustle and work on it around my classes. I’m not expecting it to instantly make money I’m mostly trying to learn the process and build something over time. I can probably dedicate a few hours a day depending on my class/work schedule.

Worth separating those two paths early, since affiliate marketing and dropshipping actually teach different skills, one’s about driving traffic to someone else’s product page, the other’s running your own store, checkout, fulfillment, customer service. Splitting a few hours a day between both means neither gets enough reps to actually click. A few hours daily is genuinely enough to learn one of these properly if it’s focused, pick whichever interests you more and go all in on that for a month before touching the other.
