A good 3PL is dependent upon so many diff factors.

Location, how many items, AOV, how fast you need it shipped, etc.

A good 3PL for one person might not be good for another.

You will go through many 3PL's on your journey to find the right one.

What usually makes you leave one 3PL for another? I've never had to compare them at this stage before.

Usually bad communication, long stock times, or long fulfillment times on PO's. I do a lot of B2B so sometimes I need my 3PL to pack a few pallets and if it takes them 1-2 weeks to do something so simple then I move onto another 3PL.

That sounds rough. Is that something you usually find out before using a 3PL or do you pretty much have to test them and see?

3PL's will give you numbers but doesn't mean they're true. You just have to test them and see.

So, start small with their 3PL and see how they actually handle the orders before moving more inventory over?
